Austin police have severely injured a young man by shooting him in the head with bird shot rounds wrapped in cloth, and continued to shoot the medics carrying his body. They shot a known pregnant woman in the stomach, then stormed and abducted her from a medic tent. They maced young children during a peaceful daytime protest.
Detroit police have brutally beaten, tear gassed and arrested peaceful protesters. A curfew is set from 8pm to 5am city wide. Rockford police dragged people from their cars and beat them last night. Minneapolis police shot at people filming them on their own balconies. An NYPD officer called a woman a "fucking bitch" and threw her on the ground. She went into a seizure and had to go to the emergency room. Then more New York cops rammed into crowds of protesters with their cars. An Atlanta couple last night had their tires slashed, windows broken, and were dragged out of their car and tazed. Chicago police announced a curfew and then raised the bridges out of downtown. Demonstrators were trapped and at the utter mercy of CPD roundups. A police supervisor ordered on the radio, "Gas 'em all." Over 1,000 people have been arrested. Everywhere, journalists are being indiscriminately targeted and arrested. A Minneapolis photojournalist is blinded permanently in one eye after being hit by a less lethal round. They've maced children. They've torn off a woman's hijab. They're turning off their body cameras and hiding their badge numbers. _____________________________________________________

Not at all. He had every right to insult and offend the people who paid him millions of dollars for playing a game. That right does not confer some sort of immunity from the consequences of those actions. He called his fans a bunch of knuckle-dragging bigots, and they’re not his fans any more. Cause, effect. Simple, really. Anybody should be able to figure that out. Or are ‘those people’ not allowed to feel offended?
Two-thirds of the crimes in this country, and three-quarters of the violent crimes, are committed by black people, most of them against other black people. So, yeah, I would expect more blacks than whites to be arrested, prosecuted and sent to prison. I would expect two to three times as many ‘harsh sentences’ to be imposed on black criminals. Why would anybody expect any different outcome? Most of those black criminals are tried in leftist courts, in leftist-dominated cities like Minneapolis. Maybe any remaining disparity is due not to 'right-wing racism', but to venue? ——————————— The worst ‘institutional racism’ in the U.S. is that imposed by the government with quotas and preferences. |

Wow. Every single one of those cities is a bastion of left-wing politically correct oh-so-woke Democrat goodness. That is what the Left advocates as the 'compassionate' alternative to those Eeeeevul conservatives and capitalists. They want us all to live under their benevolent rule, inspired by those shining examples of government 'help'. ——————————— I used to live on a farm. I know what bullshit smells like. |

Your reaction that that is "but they're liberal cities"? What's wrong with you? Where the fuck is your humanity and basic empathy?

I can think of one possible exception to this. Eisenhower sent federal troops to Alabama to enforce a Supreme Court order to integrate the Univ of Alabama over the objection of segregationist Gov. George Wallace. IIRC, it was James Merideth who matriculated as the first African American student at Alabama.
I'm not sure if there have been other instances of federal troops being used in differenent situations. Normally, however it is a big no no... Alabama no longer objects to black students...especially if they play football! ![]() Don - When any group seeks political power in God's name, both religion and politics are instantly corrupted.

Because the subtext in complaints such as yours is always, ALWAYS "We must end these abuses by giving absolute power to the Democrats and the Left!" despite overwhelming evidence that they are the problem, not a solution. Because we must first accurately identify the problem before attempting to solve it. Because giving the Left that absolute power they crave will guarantee many more and worse abuses. ——————————— My grandpa voted Republican until the day he died — but he’s been voting Democrat ever since. |

So because I have a problem with people being beaten and killed when they offer no threat I want a totalitarian leftist regime?
That's a lot of assumptions from almost no information. And those assumptions are straight from the kind of people that worship a president that says he talked to hundreds of governors that agreed with him when there are only 50...

Just for the record, I was the expert consultant who provided the information that motivated the Portland police bureau to roll over on the shooting of Mr Monroe by Seargent Reister. I am extremely cognizant of how many police departments equip their officers with shotguns loaded with less lethal beanbag rounds without having the slightest clue as to how and why they are less lethal and the circumstances under which they can be employed with minimal risk of killing or maiming the suspect. Just for fun, consider this story by Larry Niven: http://news.larryniven.net/biblio/display.asp?key=267 I'll try to find the unedited version of the video of the Rodney King beating. |
