My County is finally having a trial for the suspect accussed of gunning down a young man on the night after Thanksgiving two years ago. There were multiple witnesses to the shooting so the defense strategy will be interesting. He is the same age as my marijunna bootlegging tenant who shot at my son. I wonder if he will use the excuse "I'm old. I don't have time to shoot at children." I wonder if the defense will offer up a "gun expert" who will contend that a 9mm pistol isn't a lethal weapon at close range.

If you think that shooting at people with either a 9mm pistol or a 12 gauge shotgun without justification to use deadly force then you are truly FUBARed in the head. You proove my point that the problem is police, judges snd juries, not guns.

...no.
Oh, I do admit that gun crime is bad and that the person who pulls the trigger should be held accountable for whatever damage/injuries/death results.

The thing that I find tiresome is that you bring it up EVERY CHANCE YOU GET!

Seriously, how many times have you ranted about this?

We get it,
We do.

You had a bad court case which went wrong for you.

I once had to play a Chess and a Draughts match at the same time when I was in Boys Brigade (won the chess, lost the draughts) but I don’t bang on about it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over...

That is why I responded as I did.

It appears that the scum sucking whore of a defense attorney is gearing up to argue that the shooter accidentally loaded his Glock 43 with live ammo rather than blanks which he usually uses because he doesn't want to hurt anyone. Absolute BS.

You live in a country which enshrines both the right to bear arms and the right to self defence, so you kinda have to deal with people you don't like having weapons and using them against people you do like.

Yes, the fact that people have due process and the right to an attorney and a presumption of innocence definitely is something that would pose a problem for you.

Something you Germans can not understand is that with freedom comes responsibility. The right to Keep and Bear arms comes with responsibilities.

You have a responsibility to not pack a gun for your frequent trips to the tavern where you often become so intoxicated that the waitreses have to drive you home. Guns and booze dont mix. The BATF prooved this at Waco. Some of the states with the least restrictive gun laws have strigent prohibitions on carrying or shooting guns while intoxicated.

You have a responsibility to not violently object to the waitresses driving you home when you are carrying a gun.

You have a responsibility to not sexually assault the waitresses who are trying to drive you home because you are drunk, especially when you are carrying a gun.

You have a responsibility to not physically assault the pregnant waitress who is trying to drive you home because you are drunk so violently that she gives birth prematurely, especially when you are carrying a gun.

When you fail to honor all of the above responsibilities, you have no right to invoke the Elmer Fudd defense by presenting perjured testimony that you thought that your semiautomatic pistol was loaded with blanks. Semiautomatic pistols will not cycle firing blanks unless highly modified which renders them incapable of firing live ammunition with bullets.

It's hilarious any time I hear US conservatives lecturing anyone on the concept of responsibilities.

Any time anyone tries to actually pass legislation imposing any of those responsibilities it's the US right that screams that that is an infringement on their freedoms.

This from the same people that are absolutely stumped by the concept of anything resembling a responsibility to the well ordered functioning of society if they can't figure out what they personally get out of it directly, so they howl at the very idea of having to pay taxes or any suggestion that taking care of anyone but them is something a civilized society should do.

Oh, but we do understand this very well.

Which is why gun ownership around here is a priviledge, not a right, and contingent on some fairly strict requirements.
