It's fairly even-handed on the pros and cons, and though it's several years old, still looks at future developments we haven't seen yet in general use.

Surely murder is a serious subject, which ought to be examined seriously. Instead, it is almost always examined politically in the context of gun control controversies, with stock arguments on both sides that have remained the same for decades. And most of those arguments are irrelevant to the central question: Do tighter gun control laws reduce the murder rate?

IMO, the central question is the critical one. This article cites a book by a professor about an empirical study on this, which I've added to my ILL reading list. BTW, books give you the possibility of stopping, thinking something over, then reading onward.

Almost any kind of reading is faster than watching videos. I really hate it when some lazy bastard can't take the time to compose some text and makes me waste time and bandwidth watching some lame video.

Unfortunately, other members have insisted full links to any type of info put up. I do apologize Imaginos1892 but it can not be helped.

Now, when are the utopians or globalists going to wake up and see that the narrative of banning guns rather than actually fighting WW3 is not going to stop the Jihad. Well the problem is not going to go away because the jihadists intend to kill everyone who does not share their views. Just look at Syria, Libya, and Iraq, see what they do to people who disagree with the ruling junta (so to speak). Here in America, their pushing a race war through the media. Could they be trying for a way for Obama to impose Marshall Law and then he can suspend the Constitution and the election? I hope not but watch the narrative being pushed. Their being the narrative of white guilt and white privilege. When attempting to discuss this...the narrative of microaggression and getting in their personal space. I think you get the point.

I don't think Obama and the other progressives are pushing the violence to create conditions for declaring marshal law. The violence against police hurts them immeasurably. If anything will scare the moderates worse than Trump, it is relying bleeding heart liberals/progressives to establish law and order in the face of social unrest arising from the left. If the administration begins declaring marshal law as a solution to the violence, Democrats lose their base that loves Sanders.

The last time things got close to this bad back in 1968, Nixon won on a law and order platform.

Is the point that your paranoia is completely out of control? Because that point was made quite a while ago here and really doesn't require further reinforcement.

Sorry you got the wrong impression - I was griping about the lazy bastards that put up videos in the first place. I don't expect you to transcribe the damn things.

SMR, you need a little perspective. The Islamic extremists are contemptible, no one that can celebrate toddlers being run over by a large truck deserves access to oxygen. However they are slowly being constrained by our current approach. You say declare WW3, who against? Most Muslims world wide are peaceable people who ignore the weird bits in the Koran, just as most Christians ignore similar weird bits in the Bible. Been to any stoning of adulterous women lately?
Moving to create a second class citizen status for all Muslim people would only make the problem worse. If we embrace sterner measures across the board we turn into our enemy.
Incidentally just in case I'd like to know the Arabic for "god shags goats" so as to have something to say back to a nutter shouting Allah Akabah (god is great). Probably get me killed quicker but at least I'd have fought back.

Also the term is martial law not Marshall Law, and the short version of "they are" is "they're" not "their" and you should say "there are" not "their are" (plural possessive pronoun). In the one paragraph you used "their" twice in two different wrong ways.

Grammar bigot! "Jes'Tawkin", the redneck idiom, is a language variant with a proud and noble history, a dialect that has been brutally suppressed by thesaurus-wielding elitists. Our movement, "HAMMER THE GRAMMER", is taking to the streets in protest!

Oh, wait... those were spelling mistakes, not grammar mistakes.

Never mind......

Language is a tool. Just like any other tool, you should learn to use it correctly, lest you hurt yourself and others. I consider sloppy writing to be an indicator of sloppy thinking.
