Imagine being able to have memories of several centuries of human/'cat interaction and even more insight on how the 'cats interact between each other. Talk about an ambassador between species. WOW.

It's possible. Just need Spock to do it. It's called a Vulcan mind-meld.

Nice POV.

Although, the verdict isn't in on Raoul and Nimitz.
Ohhboy.. think about this one: Raoul has both Hamish and Honor's DNA, and any of the tree-kittens from Samantha and Nimitz have both of their DNA. That's could be one sneaky but uber-smart, pranksterish but ultimately super team, if Raoul got adopted by one of the younger 'cats. Maybe make him the intel type and use the Torch Folks to train him up right!

'Zounds! that'd be a cool duo to follow.

I'd like Lois Suchon's raw POV when she found her ass dirtside in OBS.

"I can't believe that jumped up Bitch called my bluff!"

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

Of course later, when she found out what had happened on Fearless, she might well of been "Good thing she threw me off the ship - that would have been a lot of work"

Agreed. She put the so in sorry. Why she wanted to be a Naval doctor is beyond me.

No wonder her last name. She was always telling authority "Suchon this!"

A couple items --

1) Lois Suchon joined a peace-time navy (or so she thought). There are many that Avairs Terekhov would call 60%ers -- doing just enough to get by. Unfortunately a peace-time military sometimes lends itself to that attitude rather than the attitude of "what do we do if ..." (fill in blank for contingency planning). See Elvis Santino for an example of a 60%er.

2) Lois Suchon had probably been able to bluff her way with previous CO's; She did not count on her CO being the daughter of not only TWO doctors, but one of them was a very SENIOR military surgeon.

Basically Honor recognized her character type, and, although Honor may not have known the details of Suchon's job (but don't bet on it), she knew enough that Suchon would be near-useless as a combat surgeon.

It WOULD be interesting to find out if Alfred Harrington had ever met Suchon, and his opinion of her !!

I've always wondered about Suchon later military carier. Which probably took on the appearance of a boat anchor. My guess has always been that she was assigned after Fearless to MARS (Manticore Arctic Research Service) Adamson-Prescott (Amudson-Scott) station at Sphinx's south pole for a year as station doctor. (what they forgot to tell her, that it was for a planetary year)

I've wondered about her in passing a couple times while reading the rest of the series, too.

It would be interesting to find out if Daddy Harrington, after finding out about her behavior, took it upon himself to make some calls to various old friends, colleagues and former subordinates (he got out early to go into civilian medicine, so they would have continued advancing in rank) in much the same way a senior NCO (retired or active) nowadays has the ability to make things known- unofficially- to an enlisted screw up, slacker or troublemaker's new chain of command prior to a transfer just by calling and 'catching up' with old friends and passing things along "the Grapevine". In those circumstances, a word or two in the right ear can go a long way if it's the proper ear receiving the message.

Thomas Theisman and Lester Tourville meeting Alfredo Yu and Warner Caslet again after Filareta's folly.

I'm sure that within minutes, the call would go back to Pritchart via Hermes Buoy to get their pardons signed, after which Theisman would countersign, etc. Not becaus either of the "now GSN" officers would be going back to the RHN or even Havenite space any time soon, unless they are part of the mission to Bolthole, but because it would be the right thing for him to do.

I'd like the POV of ATS? (Armsmen Training School) of the first female armswoman.

And then her virgin deployment and her losing her innocence with her first kill.

And I want her to come from Honor's own steading, who wanted to protect Honor since the steading was created and she was a snotty nosed little kid.

I'd also like the POV of a little hero worship for Abigail. Miss Hearns has scored many a point for rebellious, adventurous and feminist women all over Grayson.

And the POV of their father's chagrin.

"If it's okay for Abigail father, it's okay for me."
"Abby did it!"
"Let's see what Abby has to say about it father!"

Maybe even the POV of an armswoman for Miss Hearns who works alongside Mateo and the interesting dynamics and issues they both must endure and overcome to work together. Perhaps culminating into love which the two of them must fight as hard as any enemy.
