I believe this was addressed in "A Beautiful Friendship" -- IIRC, Climbs Quickly had once been involved in a "posse" which had to track down a Treecat who had done something BAD (undisclosed by MWW). Outcome also undisclosed. Apparently it DOES happen, but rarely. Having elders taste your Mind Glow from kittenhood can be an aid in rearing kittens. Knowing your expressed thoughts are known is likely one of the side-effects (and causes) of the treecat society stability.

Thanks Stewart. I had forgotten that. And there wasn't very much detail at all.

It must be a copper-plated Cordelia Ransom to carry on an extramarital affair around treecats. Or a secretive tryst. Or a clandestine love affair.

The treecats see right thru the two of you. Can you imagine a cat regarding the two of you with an all knowing eye. And you sweating bullets because you think it's written all over your face, like it is in your mind?

If you're bonded to a cat, they know every time you see a hottie and want to [j h]ump her bones.

With aircars in the Honorverse, many of us know that there's a family with a George, Judy, Jane and Elroy, and a Rosie the robot, but instead of an Astro the dog with a jetpack, it's a treecat.

Cogswell is still selling cogs.
But Spacely is selling sprockets and spanners.

Treecat Wars is the story around a treecat who under extreme stress becomes mentally unbalanced and tries to bring about the murder of another clan he perceives as threatening his own clan. He is subdued and returned to his own clan for treatment by healers.

Is there a case where a bonded cat-cat pair (for lack of a better word) divorced?

IIRC there was a mention in one of the early books (1st five I think) of rare instances when a bond was dissolved because the human partner treated it like an ownership instead of a partnership. It did say that such cases were rare as the cats seldom made that kind of mistake.

I remember that one. But thanks for reminding me.

I was referring to a cat-cat pairing.
