When Honor Harrington found out that Horace Harkness demonstrated what would happen when a wedge is brought up inside a boat bay she regarded Harkness with a measured look of approval that made Harkness uncomfortably blush.

I'd like to have a similar POV of Thomas Theisman when he heard of the famous Shannon Oops. And later if he discusses it with Shannon. Replete with Shannon's second Oops and accompanying blush.

Do you think it's common knowledge amongst top brass?

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

I would like to read Hamish and Sonja's POV as Hamish is clearing out janeceks administration and as he selects Sonja for the Fourth Space Lord. How did that meeting go? Was Hamish put up to it by Honor or did Hamish see to this on his own. Sonja must have have been surprised to be selected or was she? Sonja's bag of tricks were used in the earlier war did she already develop a good working relationship with Hamish unbeknown to their separate supporters? Did they they have the similar sit down that Sonja and Mike did? I'm betting they worked out their differences long before anyone saw it coming. Makes me wonder about how Hamish viewed Khumalo and his decision to leave him on station in the cluster. Would he have known of Khumalo's mettle?

Cthia's father ~ "Son, do not cater to the common belief that a person has to earn respect. That is not true. You should give every person respect right from the start. What a person has to earn is your continued respect!"

Honor was not back from Sidemore at the end of WOH when Hamish appointed Sonja as 4th Space Lord. She was surprised when Hamish told her on her return at the end WOH.

-----------

I suspect it is known, but on a "need to know basis" ,
but "the walls have ears" and rumor control, like Selician pirate intersteller communication, can be effective FTL.

Somehow this post soothes me. :)

The POV of Benjamin, when he first learned of the High Ridge government shutting off or doctoring the flow of information. Was he cussing like a bucked cowboy?

The PoV of Raoul Harrington as an adolescent, when he gets there.

The title's easy - Honor thy Mother.

I love your thinking jchilds! Please consider though, that Hamish was no Buttercup either. Perhaps it should be "Honor thy Mother and Father."

I'd like the POV of Admiral Foraker when she views the classified specs on Manticoran hardware for the first time.

"So that's how Sonja did it. That beech is a genius!"
