Ah Mother Superior of the bad girls club! Nothing new on Kohdy, and our favorite poor enemy Thirsk's bad news remains mysterious too. I wonder if the bad news is due to the ironclads of snippet #2 and the loss of a canal? :twisted:

Thanks for the Snippet RFC!! Did not see her being the mother superior of the order but did think she would be high ranking.

As for Dohlar, cant wait to see what they get when the ICN comes calling for a little of there own back. Maybe we finally see this threat knocked out for good, at least on the naval front?

Finally, I think the Oopsie is because he posted it late. If you look back you can see that RFC usually posts the snippets earlier in the week (usually tuesday) and just forgot to post this one on time. Whatever the case I am glad we got to read it, got to get my weekly fix or I start to shake waiting for the next book to come out

Second, Wow!

Third, I didn't see her as the "mother superior", but it explains the behavior of her 'maid' in Zion, which we haven't seen since.

Letting someone that close to you and quite an effective XO being apparently out of touch is quite surprising, unless she's doing something else very important.

We may find out what that was when they go back to Zion. ;)

Let me disagree, because Salthar was mentioned first and he's head of the army, and the fact Thirsk doesn't to seem professionally worried or feel involved with whatever happened, plus the loss of Claw Island happened a month earlier and that bad news was unlikely to have taken this long to reach him; indicates to me it probably refers to Ahlverez's defeat and presumed surrender [this is still March 897 YoG], because they don't know he got away at the sacrifice of his rear guard.

So now they think only Rychtyr's small force [maybe ~20,000 men?] and the few reinforcements rushing to him are all that's left between them and DE and EHM, or roughly 130,000+ men; though they don't have those hard numbers, but figuring on 4 or 5-6 times as many is more than bad enough.

Kudos to Don for the definitely intense "military pressure" prediction already being fufilled. 8-)

The fact that he is presumed lost only builds Ahlverez's heroic stature even greater and taller when he does regain contact, particularly with so many; unlike Hennet, who's probably claimed he barely made it out with his life; so the odds of being arrested by even Clyntahn have dropped to near zero, IMO.

Thirsk may be thinking of Rainos's hatred and opposition at the moment, unless he's already had news of Ahlverez's change of heart towards him.

Who knows the next snippet may be less than ten days away.

The fact that Thorast wants to hide it makes me think it's army related. Although we do know that another army was moving up towards the border- So it would seem that they had that bit of bad news at the end of the last book.

I think RFC originally posted this as 'HFQ Official Snippet #5' then corrected it - Hence the 'oopsie!

If Nynian is the mother superior then is the SSK located in Zion? It would be odd to have the head of an organization stationed far away from the rest. And is that why she has to return to Zion quickly?
