In my opinion, whatever he looks like in the end, Nimitz has to make readers think "Wow, I want a treecat too", and in my view this image fails that test.

Aside from being Honors companion, the most important thing he adds to the story is his mental link with Honor, and again, this does not show that, or reflect any possibility of that kind of empathy.

If I recall correctly, we see Nimitz in his "fighting buzz-saw" guise 4 times in the entire series. So that is his least important attribute - and that is what this image conveys.

Am I seeing things or are HH's eyes Blue in this image?

They look grey, and maybe they're picking up the blue from the khrome kitty. Either way, that's not right either.

I really like the rather awesome looks of that critter on Honor's shoulder...but it's not a treecat.

The only way I can accept this creature as Nimitz is if someone was able to shave all its fur off. If they were to put an inch of hair on it and color it appropriately, it can become a passible version of Nimitz. Over all though I don't like it. Its face is much too intelligent, it looks like it could start speaking at any moment. Spines, Horns, a tail that looks like it can stabbed through anything, come on that is not a tree cat.

Please for the love of god no. I would shoot that thing if it came near me. There is nothing adorable or cute about this thing, it would scare a small child to death.

Is it me, or is the art getting worse?
