Once defiant, Biden now ‘soul searching’ about dropping out of race OK then, President Biden said it would take a hint from the Almighty for him to withdraw, well maybe Covid for the third time will be that hint! So “IF” he does drop out! Who; with four months until the election, in the Democratic Party is sufficiently well known to stand against Trump? Again, with four months until the election, the last thing the DP needs is a ‘cat fight’ for the top spot. So they need a name that Americans know! There’s only been one name that has topped out over 50% against Trump, and that was “Michelle Obama!” She has said No Way! Well someone needs to have a serious talk with her, to forget her ‘Shermanesque’ “If nominated I’ll not run. If elected I’ll not sit” bull shit, if not for the sake of her Party, then for her country! Hell, for the rest of us too!!! Because if not, then Trump looks like a shoe in!!! |

For those who still remember, this is not the first time that the Dems have been in something like this particular pickle.
As in back in the day when Johnson declared that he would not run again. At that time it unleashed an internecine cat-fight that virtually handed Regan the White House on a silver plate. This time it’s even worse! With less than four months to your election, the Dems better settle four-square behind one name, or else history will repeat. Only this time with Trump as the recipient of that silver plate victory. The Dems do have some small advantages, in that most of the Reps PR campaign has probably been based on attacking the Biden/Harris ticket, and it will take some time to re-saddle. Not on that, but listing to Trumps victory speech at the convention .It was like vintage Trump. Lashing wildly; and sometimes almost incoherent, at all and sundry. Something that must have given some people second thought! But it all depends on the Dems getting their act together in the time remaining! Oops! I guess that Biden is not alone in having age fog his memory! With him it was substituting Putin for Zelensky, with me it was Nixon for Regan! Oops! |

How long will it take for him to disrespect Kamala Harris? Wait, he already has a silly name for her.
He had better be careful with her. The black vote will be lost faster than he can tell a Red Neck joke. What little of the black vote he has that is. She should put Biden on the ticket as VP. .

Right when I was going to come on this site and post about whether those Mega Donors who were bitching for Biden to drop out of the race would now donate to Kamala I saw this:

https://www.politico.com/news/2024/07/2 ... e-00170732 Here’s a debate that’ll be worth watching, even at 3 am over here! On one hand you’ll have Trump, whose idea of debate is wildly unsubstantiated bombastic statements! On the other side you’ll have Harris. A former prosecutor! Articulate and intelligent, used to public speaking! My guess is that the odds are that she’ll tear him a new one! That is if he doesn’t somehow weasel out of it! |

It won't be, though. Harris will be calm and composed, Trump will bluster and sneer, Harris will talk policy while Trump will ramble about whatever goes through his head - this is all stuff that has been seen before. Noone will change their mind about anything, nothing will be learned, and unless something truly extraordinary happens, nothing about these debates will matter. |

The previous debate with Trump vs Biden proves that these debates can matter! Trump didn’t have to be his usual loud and blustering self to try to score points of Biden. Biden did that himself! It was one thing to know that Biden was not in top form and getting old. But it was another thing to see it played out in front of your eyes. So while it was not solely responsible for Biden’s withdrawing from the race, it was certainly one of the last catalysts! A Harris vs Trump debate might be the same. Seeing Trump the big blustering buffoon facing off against a calm collected Harris waiting for him to him stick his foot in his mouth, in front of your very eyes might just move some of the face-sitters. Trump is many things, but he is not stupid, which is why I think he’ll try to weasel out the debates! |

Oh yes! That debate will be worth it. A strong black woman against a racist idiot. The debate will infuse the Democrats and their fanbase with new energy. And it will make it real for the female voters that a woman's time to take command of the White House draws near. .
