A hands-on analysis of the Capture of Kherson!

Ah Perun - he's produced a number of very cogent logistics based analyses throughout the war. :)

BTW in your previous post you quoted the Daily Mail...
As a general point of principle take everything the DM says with a very large pinch of salt [of course they do publish the occasional true article, but thats problably by mistake]. Not for nothing is it more correctly known as the Daily Bile, or the Daily Heil!!!

You’re perfectly correct; a Tabloid is not usually a good source, but then again also in basically saying: “…even a blind hen will occasionally find a kernel of corn!” ;)
There were other sources reporting on the same subject, but the Mail for some reason was the most comprehensive!
The subject of child-soldiers has been raised before in this thread; the new was that Vlad the Putz has now signed it into law!
Shows that no matter the outcome of the current war, Putin is making sure that his successor will have ample cannon fodder for a nice little bout of Revanchisme!

Today across a dark cold Ukraine its people are holding, what can only be described as a macabre and deeply ironic Day of Remembrance, known in Ukraine as Holodomor.
A day where they remember the millions of Ukrainians that died of starvation and neglect in the 30’s, by the order of a Russian despot!
Here we are 90 years later; and the more things change the more they remain the same! With Russians out to destroy the Ukrainian people, and again at the orders of a Russian despot.

Technically speaking, Stalin was Gregorian, not Russian. OTOH, "by order of a despot in Moscow" would fit.

'We humiliated ourselves': Sweden’s bid to join NATO meets continued resistance from Turkey

Vlad the Putz must be laughing his ass off!!!
His lackey has not only stymied the addition of two countries, whose membership would only strengthen the Baltic and Northern flank from further Russian aggression. He’s also causing, what can only be categorized as dissention in an alliance whose strength is supposed to be unity against a common enemy!

The poster did recognize the cardinal point of the post: about the despot(s) in Moscow.
In discussing Holodomor in another forum, I did attract the attention of two pro-Russian apologists, who both attempted to glans over the attempt at genocide!
The most ludicrous explanation from one of them was that the deaths were the result of a “class war”! I’m sure that the millions of dead Ukrainian’s, would have appreciated the differentiation!!!
The other equally absurd was that the campaign was not at Russia’s instigation; but by the directive of the USSR!
The answer to that was easy, paraphrasing the Bard:
A pile of dung by any other name would still reek! ;)

Well it didn’t go so good for them last time, I guess that all one can do is wish them more of the same!

There will more. There is an old saying that doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is a form of insanity...

Putin Says West Aiming to 'Tear Apart' Russia

…Putin has used the concept of "historical Russia" to argue that Ukrainians and Russians are one people — undermining Kyiv's sovereignty and justifying his 10-month offensive in Ukraine.

Talk about being delusional!
His military is laying waste to Ukraine. Killing its citizens Ukrainian’s and Russian -speakers; military and civilian non-combatants, by the thousands!
Is he really so lost in his delusions, that the actually think that the Ukrainians will ever forgive Russia; at least in the foreseeable future?
That he can force them into a union at the point of a bayonet?
Or is he just speaking for the camera, to his brainwashed minions?

Low-ball or high-ball, the Ukrainians certainly brought New Year in with a bang!
Much has been written; also in this thread, about the rotten state of Russian logistics. But if the rapports are true about the placing of dormitory for troops in or near an ammo dump (or vice versa?) would even in layman’s optics seem like a really bad idea!
There are times when human stupidity makes it a bit too easy for Murphy, or his; seen with Ukrainian eyes in this particular case, capricious sister …Serendipity! :D
