because it's probably time it had it's own thread.

Anybody see any of the Arizona Senate debate?

Sen. McSally was asked if she was proud of her support for President Trump.
In response, McSalley tried to stake her place in the dodge ball hall of fame.

In Arizona at least, it looks as if Trump is really on the nose.

On the subject of elections. I received my ballot for our local government election today. Down here in Vic, maybe all of oz, local government elections are postal only.

16 candidates for 7 Councillors, preferential voting.

Lol, I have to cut the voting slip off of the page with all the candidate statements.

Actually, this type of election is where preferential, or ranked choice, voting falls down. Should only be voting for one Councillor for our ward, not all of them at once for the entire Local Government Area. I got no idea who most of these people are. Some live at the complete opposite end of the LGA, and I doubt they give a toss about my small town.

Oh well, at least it's only 16 numbers to write out :)

It was announced today that the Durham report has been delayed until after the election.

There's really only two reasons for that, and since Durham isn't in a coma that's one reason gone.

Considering the feet-dragging that has been going on I can only guess that they either found nothing or they actually found something that they don't want to come out before the election.

The third option is that they actually found something that they think will help them in the election and they are sitting on it and not revealing anything to Trump - since he tend leak sensitive information like a sieve through tweets or interviews.

Not so much for the politics, but for the USA, it's a delightfully different presentation style.

From today's news, does anyone else see a problem with the Republicans in California having their own postal ballot return boxes? Of course they wouldn't tamper with the ballots?

Given their past record with attempts at voter suppression I am (engage heavy sarcasm) completely certain that this is all above-board and no shenanigans are intended (disengage heavy sarcasm).

I mean, even setting aside that last question they're completely illegal.

The Australian Capital Territory (a state) has it's state elections tomorrow.

Most of the votes have already been cast in various pre-polling options.

Well! Well! Well!
Some time ago in this forum another poster; maybe tongue-in-cheek, suggested that he might seek uphold in a dacha in Russia on the Black Sea.
Maybe it was more of a premonition!
This may be one of the first times that he has even as “joke” intimated that he might lose the election.
With the tide of legal trouble facing him once he loses the protection of the Presidential Umbrella, it would be a perfect place to avoid extradition.
Of course his band of faithful Flying Monkeys would cry foul, and that he was hounded into an unjustified exile.
