I don't know if I'm alone in this, but I always seem to have songs I associate with characters or romantic pairings who mean a lot to me, and I was curious if anyone around here does anything similar.

For instance, the song I most associate with Javier and Eloise prior to Lovat is Sting's "Fields of Gold". (Guess what I do every time I hear it now? Got it in one - I cry.)

More embarrassingly, the song I associate with Augustus/Estelle is, of all things, "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?" (the Elton John version, not the song from the film). (If this makes you cringe, think about the fact that I first realised Norm Lewis would make a perfect Augustus Khumalo when I saw him singing "A Whole New World" onstage. Clearly, I need to quit it with the Disney melodies.)

I'm really curious to see if anyone else associates music with characters, and if so, who those songs are for and what they are!

For me the best song for Honor is still the one that I started to associated with her after reading HotQ when it first came out. Stan Bush’s “The Touch.” It was used in the soundtrack of the Transformers animated movie back in the 80’s.

You got the touch
You got the power

After all is said and done
You've never walked, you've never run,
You're a winner

You got the moves, you know the streets
Break the rules, take the heat
You're nobody's fool

You're at your best when the goin' gets rough
You've been put to the test, but it's never enough

You got the touch
You got the power

When all hell's breakin' loose
You'll be riding the eye of the storm

You got the heart
You got the motion

You know that when things get too tough
You got the touch

You never bend, you never break
You seem to know just what it takes
You're a fighter

It's in the blood, it's in the will
It's in the mighty hands of steel
When you're standin' your ground

And you never get hit when your back's to the wall
Gonna fight to the end and you're takin' it all

You got the touch
You got the power

When all hell's breakin' loose
You'll be riding the eye of the storm

You got the heart
You got the motion

You know that when things get too tough
You got the touch

You're fightin' fire with fire
You know you got the touch

You're at your best when when the road gets rough
You've been put to the test, but it's never enough

You got the touch
You got the power

You got the touch
You got the power

One masochistic Pavel Young likes it rough and this became his favorite song after Honor pounded him when he tried to forcibly have her.
