Yeah hurray - a new version was released.

Gameplay

1. You can now protect your convoys via mission.
There is also a short tutorial about it!
Disadvantage: You have to protect your convoys with missions.

2. The pirates are now also attacking convoys.
If you do not protect your systems adequately and the pirates are successful with their attacks, they will
attack the vessels at the hyperborder more frequently.

3. The requirements for the level of impeller drives and sails are significantly reduced.
This means you can get sensible travel times to your neighbors more quickly. And with all my love, that's really true lots of resources on the main planets!
This is the workaround until there is a trade for ship parts.

4. Trade offers have a travel time dependent on distance.
Since the travel times of regular convoys are measured in months, only excellent organization is inclined to do so to satisfy the needs of today's emperors and presidents. Then everything goes a little quicker.
At the same time, the concept of simultaneity is considered for the first time. Since events happen very far away, will you have to wait for information. If your convoy is attacked, you won't know until he arrives.
For the spot market, the closest trading venue is chosen.

Miscellaneous

1. The dashboard information will now survive a restart for all topics.
2. The order of the tabs in StratOps is swapped. This means you only have to load the map when you also have the map needs.
3. The list of available researches can now be searched.

And hurray #2: We are allowed to use a new favicon :)

I am looking for a description of the industrial, trade, and educational components...ships must come from someplace...but the wiki does not seem to mention this.

Yeah, there is a lot of 'documentation' stuff missing.
But feel free to write articles in the wiki on your own ;)

Currently I'm trying to figure out how a proper tutorial should work, beside the "site notes" which give some hints for every component of the game.

It's an interesting 4X game. It is still in development. I started to play it and will stay at least for now.

Thanks a lot :)
I know there is a lot to do, but I appreciate this a lot - nad of course all the feedback you gave :)

But ladies and gentlemen,
we are introducing the next release.

Gameplay

1. The advisory program has started.
It's still not easy to figure out what to actually do.
There is a new area on the dashboard for advices from, for example, the military or trading cartels.
Essentially, the route to the shipyard is described and information is provided about when you can build buildings, research or use the shipyard.

2. The author is not his character - from now on we make art.
If you like, you can create a title in your profile and give your alter ego a name.
The title and name assigned in this way will initially be used in the forum - if you assign it. The idea behind it is to allow for some roleplay and if you have any ideas, get out there!
There is still a big segment planned with espionage and diplomacy and that could be quite fun.

3. The second component of the whole thing is individualized ship names.
In the profile there is now the option to create a list of names for future new buildings.
The following applies: Only the list of names is used; the selected star nations are only used as a source if the list is empty.
Please note: These are exclusive or (XOR).
New players start by default with all nations selected, this is the previous behavior.
You can also add your Navy prefix there.

Miscellaneous

1. The population development now represents the summed pops and shows the capacity.
2. The job dashboard now shows all planets. This makes it easier to see which planet can still handle orders.
3. Manually set transport orders will now only be executed once, after which demand and delivery
zeroed. It was always annoying to forget to turn off the standing orders.
4. Some brief information about colonization is available as a tutorial.
5. The error code that is displayed at the bottom right is now a little more manageable and no longer so long.
6. The research shows the required points and the maximum level as a tooltip.

I've been playing around with it. How exactly does one get their fleet over the hyperlimit? I can move the fleet, but i can't get it over my own hyperlimit.

We have an surprisingly active ingame forum for this kind of specific questions.

But to answer it directly, you can currently only select systems or planets as destinations.
A FTL travel will started by selecting a system in the galaxy map.
Of course only, if all ships of the fleet have a sail.

After the map overhaul it will be possible to place fleets direcly at any coordinate at the map, for instance at the hyper level to catch some incoming fleets directly.

You can register and play now. I did. It is in something like the beta version.

It is not very fast. Think early turns of Space Empires IV.
