Hi, Does anyone know of a Harrington honor book that has a story related to hypnosis? I've heard about it, but can't find any that have anything to do with hypnosis.
Thanks!

There have been stories of people drugged or programmed by the Mesan Alignment to become dupes or unwilling assassins, but nothing specifically about hypnosis that I remember.

The Closest I can remember was the Pharma rep that tried to assassinate Queen Berry in AAC.

RFC said "refitting a Beowulfan SD to Manticoran standards would be just as difficult as refitting a standard SLN SD to those standards. In other words, it would be cheaper and faster to build new ships."

The other story kind of like that would be What Price Dreams? from the Worlds of Honor anthology.

When Adrienne Michelle Aoriana Elizabeth Winton, Crown Princess of the Star Kingdom of Manticore is saved from assassination on Sphinx by a treecat. The assassin was a man who had been subjected to involuntary "psych adjustment" to make him attempt the murder.

However "Because of that, actual cases of adjusted murderers were far less common than bad mystery writers liked to suggest. As a result, investigators tended to look for more everyday motives first, so whenever possible, Krogman picked as his weapon someone who had another motive." [WPD]

The story doesn't use the word hypnosis; but it seems to be a hypnosis-like effect.
