There are lots of things that could be making things interesting in Silesia, Warnecke could not have been the only megalomaniac in the area with more fire power than brains. It has been established before that Manpower Inc has operations there. It might be time to get a look at what passes for a mafia in the Honorverse, old fashioned thugs, pimps and dealers. I think it could be a whole spin off if someone worked with it. The part that makes me think it's unlikely to ever take off is that if RFC approved such a thing finding a writer up to his standards to run with it would be hard. One thing you can count on is that there will never be any substandard Honorverse books.

The Manticoran Constitution requires the heir to the throne to marry a commoner. No one in the Andermani succession could be considered a "commoner".

There are bound to be dozens of cousins that would qualify, but as roger is now married that would be out.

Hmmm.... how about if michelle hinke were to marry the heir to the andermanti throne. As she is not the Manticoran Heir, she doesn't need to marry a commoner. The question is once she marries a nobel, if the other 4 in the line of succession were killed (say the royal yact comes up against a solly SD) would she become ineleigible, or would she become the new queen?

That could depend on how the Manticoran Constitution defines "commoner".

For example, "commoner" could be defined as someone who doesn't possess a Manticoran grant of nobility, their heirs and/or relatives to whatever degree is considered improper (BTW, is this one of the things the appellation "the Honorable" indicates in Manticoran society?), which would allow for any necessary diplomatic marriages regardless of the government system involved on the other end, while maintaining the desired effect domestically (which seems to be to keep the monarchy from becoming some kind of inbred, self serving, out of touch institution). Since any diplomatic marriage would probably involve some kind of treaty, the Commons (and Lords) would probably have a say whether or not the marriage is acceptable via the accompanying legislation. The media would of course cover the person in the street's reaction to any such prospective marriage, so a definition along these lines wouldn't be without checks and balances.

No doubt it's done some other way, but it is one way to reconcile domestic concerns with the realities of interstellar politics without discriminating against foreign powers with overt aristocracies.

Probably; in present British parlance, "The Honourable" is a style attached to the sons and daughters of hereditary peers and life peers.

Kind of what I was thinking, or Roger has multiply children, one of whom marries in to the Andy dynasty then takes the crown after his or her brother and sisters have died (active service, assassination or just plain old age).

First, I think the new Manticoran Royal Yacht could take out a SLN SD. It was built on a BC hull and kept some of the offensive and at least all of the defensive firepower.

I believe that if Henke were to marry a noble and then later become heir, she would remain heir.

the Manty royal yacht is a BC(P) with a third of its pod load replaced with luxury accommodations, it could take out several SLN SDs on its own and is almost certainly going to have an escort of at least a division of BC(P)s and probably a good bit more if its going anywhere at all dangerous.
