It pleases my soul to see the European Union loose economic power and political influence.

Putin is probably happy about it to.

Then I am sorry to hear that you must be in agony right now.

Oh, wait, I forgot that you do not inhabit reality.

Friends in the UK know only too well just how many problems this will cause, and aren't looking forward to the transition. Still the people voted, all 52% of the few who bothered to vote.

Yep, they sure voted.

On something they were ill-informed on to make an actual, meaningful decision.

The UK was hoodwinked into punching its own face repeatedly by people afraid that they would lose money under the EU's incoming harsher rules on money laundering and tax evasion.

Well, this is capitalistic democracy. :) Peoples are voting basically exactly as they are shopping; they vote for advertised "product", without actually understanding what does in means.

And if you wish to have competent voters, who fully realize what are they voting for and are willing to face the consequences of their actions - welcome to communism) ;) Because it was actually one of the most important point of Lenin's ideology: that peoples must understood what they are voting for, and what consequence their decisions may cause.

Let's shorten it to very end - the length of Fuhrer's grave.

Wrong. Utterly, utterly wrong. The Brexit referendum, above all, was marketed as "non-binding" from the beginning. It was plagued by one side outright lying and the other fucking up completely; That it was treated as actually binding is the greatest tragedy in all this.

And that's a bad idea or unattainable ideal, why, exactly?

It doesn't change anything. Peoples accustomed to advertising-type of voting; they are choosing the product without actually considering it. They do not want to understood what exactly it means, they want to get the benefits & they thought that they could just complain to the service if they weren't provided what they desired.

Generally because it would require to completely change the education & behavior system on all levels. It's incompatible with the modern thinking like "we hire a manager to organize the job, and if we doesn't like the results its the manager fault".

Your memory is at fault. The leaflet sent out by the UK government to all households before the 2016 Referendum did not market the referendum as 'non-binding'. It stated on page 14
This is your decision. The Government will implement what you decide.

It was not legally binding, but the government said they'd follow the decision.
