Operation Fabius was the SLN operation during which the MA blew up the Beowulf orbital habitats, which killed at least the First (Caparelli), Second (Pat Givens) and Fifth (Cortez) Space Lords and nearly got the First Lord of the Admiralty (White Haven). It's possible more admirals were present, though not the Fourth Space Lord (Hemphill).

Since the Alexander-Harringtons are likely taking a long leave of absence, who will Elizaneth and the Grantville government choose to command the RMN? Assuming RFC doesn't come up with Admiral Larry[1] to assume the leadership, who do you see there?

I can think of three admirals for First Space Lord or First Lord of the Admiralty, in my order of likelihood:
1) Mark Sarnow, recalled from Silesia now that the situation there has stabilised
2) Allen Higgins, Home Fleet's CO during Oyster Bay (therefore, Fleet Admiral)
3) Augustus Khumalo, recalled from Talbott, which would leave Gold Peak as the Spindle Station and Talbott CO

I could also see Jan Kotouč, promoted to Vice Admiral after Hypatia, as Sixth Space Lord (BuTrain) or Commandant of the ATC.

And a certain Admiral Harrington as Seventh Space Lord (BuMed).

Sarnow is a good bet for first space lord. Higgins probably not as he has not really recovered from Yawata mentally

Second lord will see someone promoted from inside ONI. Or if you want someone totally off the wall. A certain Captain Anton Zilwiki.

Seventh probably not Harrington because of his lack of rank, remember he's only a Commodore and new to his current job.

If a Commodore is too junior for Seventh Lord, a Captain would be way too junior for Second. You're right it'll probably be Givens' deputy or someone in her staff. Have we ever heard of someone who might fit the bill?

Zilwicki has been on the beach for ~10 years, and beached officers continue to accrue rank. Once you hit Sr. Captain, you continue to accrue rank up to a low Admiral rank. He should be at least a Commodore by now, if not close enough to rear admiral that someone could push it.

Some clarified that not all officers continute to get promoted. You have to have reached a certain point and have made it through critical points in your career.

Zilwiki retired as a Captain (JG), and the infinite-seniority scheme doesn't apply to officers below Captain (SG) (aka Captain of the List).

Good catch, I couldn't remember if he was JG or SG. At least he has built another career to lean on in his twilight years....

Here is what I think ole Scourge of the Spaceways Captain Zilwiki is going to be doing in the near future. He a Cachet will be co leaders of the Joint Intelligence Command. Combining the intelligence of Manticore Haven Grayson Beowulf Torch and possibly Andernami. Their job will be to turn over rocks looking for the Alignment.

Separate the Second Space Lords duties in two, one deals with the operational and tactical side of the job the other is in charge of ONI. Put ONI and SIS under the leadership of 1 person who rotates between ONI and SIS in order to facilitate cooperation between the intelligence agencies. This intelligence chief would answer to the PM/Queen but ONI chief would report to the First Space Lord for operational reasons.

The idea would be to make sure that intelligence gathered by ONI can be accessed by SIS and vice verse and also to facilitate cooperation between the various GA intelligence services. The GA is already far behind the curve where the MA is concerned, they should do anything and everything to coordinate their efforts. Keeps turf wars to a minimum and allows the Queen/PM to squash anyone who hinders the end goal.

Simple solution: Beth promotes the Scourge of the Spaceways to Captain with a seniority date appropriate to when his year group would have expected to be promoted. Or even a year or two ahead as a "below the zone" promotion. Then gives him the stars he would have received in turn.
