74 years ago, humanity learned that together we could defeat any evil of this world.

Oh well, if shortening the front is what the Germans crave,
Let's shorten it to very end - the length of Fuhrer's grave.

(Red Army lyrics from 1945)

Excellent reminder, but don't forget that we still faced Imperial Japan in the Pacific at that time.

Completely agree. It's just... the victory over Germany was more symbolic in therms of togetherness of all fighting nations.

Agreed.

Now that the Cold War is over and the Soviet Union is no more, may be we can become just sometimes competitors and sometimes cooperators rather than enemies?

With Germany defeated, Japan had ceased to be a strategic threat unless their project to develop nukes was successful.. The only question was how many allied troops and Japanese people were going to get killed during the invasion.

Since we are on a related subject, I recommend a great book.

My very sincere congratulations to Russia. Our history predates the Marxist regime.

While the US paid most of the treasure to defeat Nazi Germsny, Russia paid most of the blood.

Now while you Russians are celebrating, try procreating rather than just fornicating. We don't want you to become extinct or exterminated by your neighbors.
