I had any religion seared out of me fifty odd years ago, but still remember some biblical quotes. One of which is "The poor will always be with us"
We have a universal welfare safety net, plus organisations like the Salvos, yet we still have some homeless people. From all accounts far less than many places, and in our case often less people than there are places for them to go. However these places have rules, and some don't like rules. |

Daryl, do you think maybe the local and state governments might be the cause of all this homelessness. We have a big drug problem that has been allowed to flourish for many years. The second problem is zoning laws. Many Leftists have structured the zoning, so that it cost prohibitive to build affordable housing. Instead we get these boom bust cycles in the markets. By limiting housing we get overvalued real estate market because building to meet demand is restricted. Food for thought.

Actually, I offerred my preferred insult to you in response to your usual, bigoted, hate mongering stereotype of America. Your response exhibited a refusal to even consider my cogent explaination of why there is an extreme shortage of housing in areas where homelessness is a big problem. Since you are such an accomplished Key Board Commando, try Googling some residential real estate sales listings and rental offers in the jurisdictions that have a serious problem with homelessness. You will find that the average, blue collar or retail clerk working full time can not afford to rent a one bedroom apartment. The landlords are not thr villain. The villains are the Fucktards who have made it nearly impossible and extremely expensive to build new housing. In years past, many of the people who are now homeless lived in "residential hotels" where they had a one room accomodation that shared a common bathroom with other tenants. They could actually afford to live in this dignified poverty by begging or doing casual jobs combined with government assistance (which we do have in America). Thanks to the government/fucktard imposed housing shortage, even the humble accomodations described above are now occupied by people working lower paying, full time retail and service jobs. Since it is far easier and cheaper to secure permits to replace or renovate existing housing most of the older, residential hotels have been replaced by high end apartment or condo buildings. Unlike new construction in the suburbs, these projects do not increase the supply of housing and thus lower cost, they merely increase the value of housing and the cost. This is all Economics 101 andeasily understood by anyone who is not steeped in Marxist dogma. |

You obviously did not know, that USSR solved the housing shortage after war rather efficiently, by implementing massive, centralized program of standard apartment complex building. ------------------------------
Oh well, if shortening the front is what the Germans crave, Let's shorten it to very end - the length of Fuhrer's grave. (Red Army lyrics from 1945) |

After Stalin killed about 30 million people then Hitler killed another 30 million people, Russia didnt have anabundance of people who needed housing. Most Americans would view Russian housing projects as imposed poverty. |

Just looked up Russian demographics. No wonder you don't have a housing shortage.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Russia BTW, those government housing projects that you Russians live in makes it really easy to nuke you. |
