You can stop proving me correct now.

I understand perfectly well that you view any references to differing homicide rates between various races and ethnicities in America is racist. When you live in a society in which one, very destinct and self identifying minority commits homicides at a rate almost an order of magnitude greater than the majority, it is imbecilic to not acknowledge the reality. I am very blatant and disrespeftful about it because President Obama engaged in such blatant, racialist provocations when he was President. The most egregious example was his exploitation of funerals for police officers that had been intentionally targeted by African American militants to deliver racialist eulogies that only incited more such incidents.

BTW, you should contemplate President Clinton's obvious exploitation of racist stereotypes and racial anxieties to advance his ban on "assault weapons." "Drug lords" and "inner city gangs" were obvious references to African Americans. I really, really pissed people off by citing the FBI's Supplementary Homicide Reports to prove that blacks were even less likely to use rifles to commit homicide than whites. Most of the largest, most crime ridden cities had and still have zero or near zero homicides committed with rifles. The beltway sniper astonished me both because Washington DC had not had a rifle homicide in over a decade and because the perptrators were African Americans.

You think that this wasn't racist:

Another interesting gang related murder.

Yes, guns were involved.

However; it is the guy who threw the concrete block who is getting charged with murder.

Here is an incredisbly informative webpage on Chicago homicides.

Sometimes it takes time to solve a murder, but a 7% clearance rate is pathetic even by American standards.

Well, I really like what Kimberly Endicott said after she was rescued: “I want to learn how to shoot a gun.”

Of course, I saw that on Fox News. I’m sure CNN and the other leftist media censored that part out.

To get back into the right thread.

Fly.
NZ police wanted to ban those weapons.
One reason was the number of police officers shot by them.

But mainly, because such laws work.

As evidenced by the Christchurch shootings themselves.

I have a simple question, how would that have helped her from getting kidnapped in a foreign land?

Also, statistically 60% of what you hear on Fox News are made up shit and lies. I can't wrap my head around the fact that people are willing to put up with that shit just because Fox is supposedly on the right spectrum. Is truth something that's not important or what? Or do people like getting lied to because it makes them feel safer? Or are they just plain morons who don't know better?

Anyway, Kimberly said that she wanted to learn to shoot, which was reported on.

Regarding the credibility of Fox news I'm reminded of how research in the US showed that right wing fake news memes lived longer without challenge than those from the left. The theory was that those on the right were more likely to believe what they wanted to hear regardless of how improbable it was.

NPR actually tracked down and interviewed one of the creators of right wing fake news content (like, legitimately fake, just making crap up out of thin air, creating fraudulent news sites that were meant to mimic legitimate news sites to post them on...) once.

He said he tried to do the same thing with left wing content but he couldn't get it off the ground because he got fact checked too much, whereas the right wing stuff he churned out just got picked up and run with and spread everywhere with no questions. As long as you're telling US conservatives something that they *want* to be true as far as they're concerned it is true and there's no need to check it.

(And yes, you can find examples of that on the left, but it is endemic on the right)

https://www.npr.org/sections/alltechcon ... he-suburbs

He was amazed at how quickly fake news could spread and how easily people believe it. He wrote one fake story for NationalReport.net about how customers in Colorado marijuana shops were using food stamps to buy pot.

"What that turned into was a state representative in the House in Colorado proposing actual legislation to prevent people from using their food stamps to buy marijuana based on something that had just never happened," Coler says.

During the run-up to the presidential election, fake news really took off. "It was just anybody with a blog can get on there and find a big, huge Facebook group of kind of rabid Trump supporters just waiting to eat up this red meat that they're about to get served," Coler says. "It caused an explosion in the number of sites. I mean, my gosh, the number of just fake accounts on Facebook exploded during the Trump election."

Coler says his writers have tried to write fake news for liberals — but they just never take the bait.
