They may not even know the destination (other than the Captain and the Navigator). When the captain of the ship Zach McBride was on started to announce their destination, the escorting GAUL made a motion which changed what she was going to say.

Just curious - is there a source or timeframe associated with the next Stephanie Harrington book?

I definitely need another dose of treecat pov books.

Jane posted to her blog that they had talked and were emailing back and forth about it, but that they won't be actively writing it until later in 2019-- they both have other commitments first and Jane's husband just had major surgery. But she seemed pretty excited about it, so I expect it won't be a terribly long wait.

How you do it is piece meal. Each leg of the trip is taken by a different ship and route. Only the keeper would know the basics of the route and contacts to get the next leg and contact information.

What's next? Here's my thoughts:

I suspect that we'll need a bit of a novel to replace some of the characters who were killed in the Beowulf strike. Plus some suspicions as to how the "Renaissance Factor" is so well organized, so quickly.

More disorganized mayhem in the Verge and former Protectorates... given that we kind of think that Darius is a Verge system... Plus the Alignment has been cut off from its money tree, aka anything headquartered on Mesa or quasi-supported by OFS.

The dynamic duos that are becoming trios (Zilwicki, Cachat, and Harahap), (Henke, Oversteegen, Terekhov and Co.), and (Foraker, Hemphill, add someone associated with the trove from Ganymede), etc. further their investigations leading towards an equalizer for the Spider drive and some target localization (aka the neck of the woods where the rabbit hole is located)... and ...

...cliffhangers. A few red herrings. Maybe some more authors playing in the Honorverse?
---------------------
All my posts are YMMV, IMHO, and welcoming polite discussion, extension, and rebuttal. This is the HonorVerse, after all

Storyline now has me at the point where Star Trek's familiar foes became friends. Without an antagonist, space opera loses its verve. Just like Star Trek, the Honorverse has to race to develop the ominous cloud on the horizon posthaste or there's no shoe waiting to drop. There's just no Honorverse without some battle scenes. The SLN is neutralized, the Peeps are allies, the Andermani are no longer haters and the MA are forever in hiding. Unless RFC is going to import the cousins of the Ferengi, what can the next offering hold unless there's trouble percolating in paradise with the alliance, or the Andermani finally decides to spread its wings and threaten the Haven sector with that awful German language.

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

It is likely MAlign will only hide for so long. We've generally been told that UH was the last book in the arc but now we know there will be a Cachat and Zilwicki book. That will probably tie up a lot of loose ends.

THEN we move the next arc with Honor's children involved and their battle against MAlign.

You're right about an enemy. Of course, the problem really is that if Manpower's kind of slavery is off the board, the goals do not seem as bad. Of course, we are also beginning to see the beginnings of designer babies now. There seems to be at least one in China. That should bring a lot of current controversy into the whole thing.

On designer babies in China.

Zilwicki has at least identified that some people are being "vanished" in the various disasters/bombs. He may even be able to identify organizations. When the incident at Balcescu Station indicates people (non-slaves) with lethal keepers traveling on slave ships and transferring to other ships (as if to prevent someone from tracking them), checking other stations for similar travelers could eventually lead to at least some indication as to where the final destination is.

Everyone died. There are no witnesses. There really wasn't time for an explanation before they machine gunned the survivors in the lifeboats.
