Recently dropped the land line, for a VOIP service over an internet Satellite connection. Not very satisfactory, takes about 5 seconds to connect and is sometimes echoic, but saves me $60 a month.
I have also taken out a mobile (cell) phone deal for $99 for a year of all free calls and messages. May shift all contacts across to that yet. |

Switched the landline over to Google Voice last year, and so far it's been working well.
I also have a prepaid cell phone -- flip phone, I'm not a fan of eyestrain so I'm not interested in browsing the web on a smartphone. Though when the current cell dies I may have to get a cheap smartphone, it's getting harder and harder to find "regular" cell phones. |

Land line with cord and cordless phones... I have no desire to own a cell phone... nor have I ever been in a situation where I needed one...
Been in two car accidents caused by people using their cell phones instead of paying attention and driving. A good penalty would be to forbid them from owning or using a cell phone for 2 to 5 years and a hefty fine. |

Wife and I both have cells, but we still have a land line. Why, people ask? Well, back in the Year of the Three Hurricanes, cell service was knocked out but our land line never quit.

I'm strictly Cell Smart phone. I'm on my fourth planning on a fifth soon. C$47 a month for my $20 Sony XA1 Ultra. 4 gb plus 5gb at reduced speed per month, Unlimited Canada wide free calls and World wide texting also free. World wide calling is 5 cents a minute.

We still have a land line. I just don't have the heart to cancel it. Is that weird? haha |
