I would strongly suggest watching the film Warriors.
The basic concept Gang-leader Syrus proposes is "we outnumber the cops, if we arm up, we can claim this city as our own".
What he forgets (or refuses to understand) is that the cops are backed up by the FBI,CIA, militia and, if necessary, the military.

Unless people are willing to pull an "Olympus Has Fallen/White House Down", all that privately-held guns are is a form of lethal safety blanket for the whingers ("Ah haz me gunz an' dat meanz me'z gotta capaboloty ta ovafro da gub'mint if dey jacks up da taxes higher den me whan ah'm smokkin mah 'erbal cigs!") and a mild form of self-defense, sporting, sexual boasting (although it's almost always compensating for something) and/or criminal augmentation.
Oh, and protein provision outside city areas (aka hunting). That one is very understandable and I have no bad feelings about that at all.

If you believe in guns, make gun-safety lessons mandatory from an early age (8?) along with psychological testing and follow up with very heavy penalties for using unlicensed guns.
Seriously. If the criminals know that waving a gun around will add another ten years to their sentence even if it should only be six months for theft, they'll switch to something with a less indiscriminate effect.

Smr, saying "Many of globalist/utopians want everyone in the US to be disarmed." What globalist utopians, never heard of them outside Conspiracy 1.0.1? Nearly every educated citizen of the other developed countries couldn't care less about you possessing domestic weapons. Why should we as you are no threat to us? We do however have an interest in analysing the strange culture you have, and the less kind make jokes about it. Rest assured we are not coming to take your guns away, but will continue to show an interest.
HB, your call for the moderator to ban us because we don't agree with you is passing strange. You insult us by calling us slaves and sheeples, and when we attempt to reason with you without insulting you, then you want us censored? As I said when finally provoked enough, I am not pacified, a slave or a sheeple.
Having (as I related) a long history of gun ownership and service to our military I naturally took offence when you implied that I was somehow a lesser person because I don't believe that private citizens should have automatic weapons, or plot to overthrow their government.

Also, you have yet to provide any logical reason to beleive that the possession of a machine gun would make you more capable of overthrowing the government than you would be with a bolt action riflle. If you were to start a revolution against your government your only chance of success would be to gain the support of a large part of the population, and machine gunning cops, soldiers, mailmen and civil servants is highly unlikely to help gain that support
BTW, calling for the removal of freedom of speech from anyone who disagrees with you seems a little odd, but apparently the first amendment doesn't matter, only the second?

You haven't had nearly as much "shiet" as you've handed out.

I suggest the Moderator should put your two options to a vote. Based on the will of the majority of registered forum members, either ban anyone who has disputed your views (and I count myself among them) or ban you.

Oh, wait, that would be democracy in action, and you don't believe in democracy. You believe in your own rectitude, and to hell with what anyone else thinks. You don't believe that any reasonable person could disagree with you, so they must all be either mental defectives, morally bankrupt or willing agents of evil. Did Weber base Cordelia Ransom on you?

If such words piss off the slaves and sheeple so be it. I cut to the mark and let the chips fall where they may.

Respect must be earned. I will not give it out freely. Sosss ... maybe it is NOT true when I say "respectfully" to some on this science fiction literary forum. Some here have not earned it. Take it or leave it. I do not care either way. GUNS GUNS GUNS right in your face. Non respectfully to some.

Re the robot.

Personally they shouldn't have used it. Should have been a sniper shot.

The whole robot bomb, to me, is just a little too random.

Now using one to deliver flash/bangs before swat charge in is different.

It is obvious that you enjoy this forum normally, and I don't want you to leave, as your insights and world view are interesting, being so different.
I regret provoking you to the point where you went well over the line. Not intentional, but I too was angry at being insulted.
Analysing my reaction I think it was because I have actually been a part time firearm professional for more than 50 years (commercial hunting for skins, carcasses and bounties - protecting my livestock from predators - oversighting billions of $ purchases for our military), and naturally objected to being called a wimp.
Water under the bridge, come back and we'll discuss other things.
