This setting and hopeful book series is based on the Medici Family and Italy in 15th and 16th century.
The first novel will start in the this world's version of Florence, one of the areas I've having problem is the coins spending power and names. Gold: Ducat Silver: Florins Copper: ? I've haven't figure out of the name for the small change. Well at least in this city state, coins very from Republics and states in Italy in our world so shall it be in my setting. LW |

...another story attempt?
How much paper have you used for this? No, seriously. You need to write down things like main character stats/facts, general background info, local politics (not always political parties, the Mafia is arguably political), local geography etc. This way, you can cross-check things to avoid plot-holes. By the way, are you still working on your Kavi idea? ~~~~~~
I can't write anywhere near as well as Weber But I try nonetheless, And even do my own artwork. (Now on Twitter)and mentioned by RFC! ACNH Dreams at DA-6594-0940-7995 |

Well I'm at the research phase of this setting, but another area I'm having problems with is the Church at this time period it was worldly and seen to be corrupted by some outsiders, Fantasy doesn't lend well to the Catholic like church.

Why is any of that a problem? EDIT: Let me elaborate. It all comes back to what your setting is supposed to be. Is it an alt-history approach to that particular time period akin to what Neal Stephenson did in his Baroque Cycle (As in, it's history as we know it with a few names changed and places added and the smallest of hints that magic might be a thing)? Or is it a full-blown departure from history, adding in lots of magic and altering a lot of things? "Fantasy doesn't lend (itself) well to the catholic like church" Doesn't it? There are plenty of Fantasy stories out there that feature expys of catholicism. What do you mean by this statement? |

If you want to use the catholic Church in a fantasy setting, simply change earlier history to make Luther successful in reforming it. Then you have a whole new ball game to play with.
