The existence of books depicting rogue AIs is not a good indicator of anything.
Dahak is up against a rogue AI himself though.
KITT had to face off against KARR in Knight Rider (although those aren't supposed to be true AIs).
Not sure of any others, AI based science fiction not being something I read a lot of...
