Which will save more lives? A highly technical facility that is current Solarian standard intended to care for six dozen admirals and a crew of 6,000+...

OR

The same equipment sitting in a warehouse or civilian transport waiting for ground-side accommodations to get ready?

Whether used as a trauma center or just an advanced diagnostics and treatment center, being temporarily in orbit isn't going to make much difference.

And why would they be sitting in a warehouse for long?

Are you saying that the people being given these equipment too dumb to clear some rooms so the can use the equipment right away while a new wing is being built to house them permanently?

Are you saying that construction of schools and hospitals haven't already started in the new joined planets? The equipment can be housed in one of the newly built hospitals which I am quite sure would be designed with Manticoran level healthcare or designed to be expanded to provide that level once equipment/funding/staff becomes available.

Put the lifepods back aboard and concentrate the certifiable ones on the hospital ships and let the locals learn how to refurbish them for the lesser ships.

So, your plan is to ferry the SDs, accompanied by a freighter with a bunch of old SLN escape pods, then refurbish the pods at the destination? Why does that sound not the least bit simple to me? Or wise?

Weird Harold, you are the one who keeps saying that these facilities are desperately needed in the Talbott Cluster. Most of the rest of us believe that Manticore has been building their infrastructure for the last several years. They don't need the marginally useful addition of the superdreadnought facilities. The text has commented on how much new trade has already been coming through the Cluster.

Who or what do you displace to make temporary room for the equipment?

How much down time is required to move the equipment -- double that for your plan.

No, I'm saying, "IF you want to use the capture 'obsolete Sollie crap' this is the only thing they're useable for."

I happen to think they can be used much more cheaply than anyone credits and some of the TQ systems could use the additional boost in medicine or education they contain.

The only other option would seem to be live-fire target drones.

RFC made the decision to simply forget about the captured fleets as far back as Adm Byng's demise. This whole thread has been mental masturbation.

Well, I'm glad someone else has a direct line to David and knows what he's thinking. Takes a whole load off my back.

If he wasn't going to have Manticore use the far more modern captured Havenite SDs from First Manticore, then they certainly weren't going to do anything with SLN crap.
