BIG SPOILER WARNING, GO AWAY NOW OR SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES.
Leeana and others are mentioned as having no armor AFTER the first assassin's attack is beaten off. HELLO? More than eight score dead bodies in the compound, and the survivors aren't stripping them to armor themselves? Does not compute, Mr. Weber. |

I don't think a man's armor would fit Leeana..

Armor needs to fit... judging from what I've read the bulk of the Armor in this world is leather, chain or plate. Chainmail needs to be reasonably close to your size although you could wear something a little oversized but Leather breastplates are shaped to the user. There is also the question of stripping the bodie3s and then getting into the armor before the enemy rushes you. If there's time after you've taken care of the wounded you could try to scrap together some pieces for a couple people but finding a Breastplate for a woman in a pile of male dead mercs may be a tad bit tough. We ain't talking flack vests here. |

Yeah ... armor needs to be the right size and shape to be useable. In general, most armor will either be specifically sized for a given wearer, or be of a size to nominally fit a short range of wearer sizes and shapes.

Especially the "right shape". Remember the Bellisaurius series and all the bad jokes about Antonina's "obscene brass tits"? Granted, Leeana isn't nearly as voluptuous as Antonina, but there's still a big difference between "normal size" and "none". She needs significantly more room in that area than any male warrior will ever need. And she needs far less in quite a few other areas (waist, shoulders, etc). |

Yeah, it is amazing the amount of work goes into making a simple thing like a cuirass for someone.
If the armor is ill-fitting then it can be worse than nothing at all. You wouldn't be able to wear armor that is too small so you would be looking at over-sized armor and that in itself could be deadly if it moves and throws you off balance or binds your movements. |

Having worn leather, boiled leather, chain and plate armor myself, this is totally true. It gets in the way, hinders you and can catch you VERY unaware at inopportune times. Just pulling on armor is not enough. You have to know how to wear it or it will kill you as surely as a blade or point will. That said, would Leanna even know HOW to move in medium or heavy armor? War maids are LIGHT infantry. They rely on speed, surprise and shock to hit and run instead of standing and taking blows. Right? |

Did she know how to ride a horse before she was trained? Did she know how to use a bow? Or a garrote? She probably doesn't know... yet. But she can be trained in them just as she was in all the others. |

Of course she can be trained and it sounds like it is going to happen. The point that was being made off the original comment is that putting on armor not fitted to you and that you aren't trained for in between battles is a bad idea. |

I'll agree with everything that is said about fitting armor to Leanna, but what about putting some armor togeather for the KING????
The king is who they were trying to kill. Wouldn't it have been prudent to find some armor close to his size for protection? |
