I admit to having been somewhat inspired by this topic (Thanks Pokermind), so, in a 10-minute burst of creativity, I came up with what I think the oft-mentioned Lay of Bazhell Bloody-Hand may be.

if anyone wishes to put it to music, I would be fascinated to hear the end result. Also note, it describes events (sort of) up to the end of book 2...

The Lay Of Bahzell Bloody-Hand

Note - The third stanza is described as not scanning well, whilst the fifth has a forced rhyme. I have tried to incorporate that into this version.

Of all the great Hradani, one greatest is by far
The mightiest of warriors, the best there is by far
A prince and champion, adventurer and guard
His mighty quests and wanderings sung by every bard
His blade is the War God’s, tho’ unwilling he was at first
But he strode ahead mightily, daring the Dark to do it’s worst
His friends they are legion, of many type and path
And if you try to harm them, you’ll feel his raging wrath

(chorus)
Let’s hear the tale of the one the Dark Gods do beware
A Horse Stealer Hradani, a man who truly cares
The greatest of Hradani, renowned throughout the land
A champion of Tomanak, Bahzell the Bloody-hand

In a slum-filled city, an ill-favoured overlord
Had foul intentions to a girl who was his father’s ward
But Bazhell heard the servant girl and tho’ it might mean war
He followed her cries of distress and smashed through a locked door
The prince he sneered and blustered, but a punch removed his teeth
Then Bazhell took the weeping girl and left the city like a thief
And tho’ the army searched for him, he left them in the dust
For his arm was strong, his heart was pure and he did what he must

(chorus)

He travelled with a merchant, as a guard he was
And he fought off bandits, he was victorious
For in the heat of battle, he used the ancient Curse
He rode the Rage in combat and the bandits came off worse
And as the caravan did go, through the mountains high
The bandits fled in disarray as word of him came nigh
Their camps they did abandon, in fear they did run
And the caravan did make it though, losing wagons none

(chorus)

Then the toothless princeling, who was too scared to fight
Instead sent assassins, striking from the night.
The assassins tracked him down, but a victim he was not
He slew them by the dozen, then by the gross lot
But amidst the combat, a new factor did rise
The War God watched him, and his heart did apprise
Yet when the War God came to him, Bazhell stood his ground
And refused to follow him, refused to be so bound

(chorus)

But then the toothless princling, did take up a cursed blade
That by Sharna Demon-Lord, had been spell-inlaid
And summoned forth a demon, a flying beast of death
Sent to track down Bazhell, and to claim his dying breath
And Bazhell saw the Demon, and to Tomanak did shout
I’ll consider your offer if you help me take it out
And the demon came forth, swarming to the attack
And Bazhell did leap forwards and it’s head off did hack

(chorus)

The princeling soon did follow, his blade of green did glow
But the Bloody-hand did take him down with one enormous blow
And through the Shipwood travelled, to the sea he went
And sailed to Belhaden where he met new torment
The Order was aghast and shocked at their newest champion
For hradani members before, you see, had numbered a bare none
And one young man did challenge Bahzell to a duel
And Bahzell healed both his arms, told him not to be a fool

(chorus)

Then to the city Hurgrum, did Bazhell then return
With by his side the young man, now his squire true and firm
Also another champion, she with twin blades fought
And soon discovered Sharna, to rule Hradani sought
And so Bazhell then created, from those who flocked to his call
A chapter of Hradani, to Tomanak sworn all
And thence did he lead them and a second Demon slew
And all the Hradani warriors, knew he was a Champion true

(chorus)

A new threat did soon arise, the Sothoii did conspire
To strike at the Hradani, killing all with blade and fire
To protect the womenfolk and children innocent
Bazhell took his warriors to face those with foul intent
The Sothoii were in their thousands, a mounted horde of hate and rage
But Bazhell and his warriors forced them to disengage
And when the dust had settled and all called an end to war
Four thousand did surrender to Tomanak’s four score

Nice start Michael, but you forgot to mention Bahzell's rescue of Zarantha in riverside and then rescuing her from the dark wizards with the help of Wencit of Rum.
