“Damn, that’s a big boat,” Sir Rainos Ahlverez, Duke Dragon Island and commanding officer of the Royal Dohlaran Army, observed as Thunderbolt glided smoothly across Queen Zhakleen Harbor towards the Gorath waterfront. “It’s lots bigger than anything you’ve got, Pawal!

“It’s not a ‘boat,’ damn it!” Pawal Hahlynd, Earl of Kaudzhu, commanding officer of the Royal Dohlaran Navy, hissed back at him. “She is a ship, you cretin!”

“A boat’s a boat.” Dragon Island grinned unrepentantly. “Although that one’s big enough even someone like me probably wouldn’t get seasick if I went aboard it.”

“I know you’re only an ignorant, landlubber general, Rainos,” Kaudzhu growled, “but if you embarrass me in front of [redacted], I swear to Langhorne I’ll bring in ringers from the Gorath Gulls for the next Army-Navy baseball game.” Dragon Island looked at him, and Kaudzhu shook a finger under his nose. “I mean it! Their manager’s my cousin, and I’ll swear his entire starting lineup into temporary service!”

"Oh, bother!" said Pooh, as Piglet came back from the dead.

Three possibilities I can think of off the top of my head:

1. Cayleb and Sharleyan

2. Duke and Duchess Darcos or

3. Duke and Duchess Delthak.

Although, now that I think about it, it could POSSIBLY be Maikel Staynair.

We're looking at a formal dockside reception for whoever's on board that ship, which means the [redacted] could just as easily be from the Dohlaran side of things. My vote's for Thirsk.

with the name 'thunderbolt' hmmmm - not so likely - I would have thought something more 'regal'.

so is this even bigger than the Gwilliam Manthyr?

OOPS

Scrapped what I posted before. HMS Thunderbolt, ICN, see RFC's post on Snippet #13 page 3 for her specifications.

Not quite #2. It's Captain Alpyn-Ahrmahk escorting the Duchess of Darcos and the Darcos brood visiting the Thirsk brood. Captain Alpyn-Ahrmahk was afterall a key figure in rescuing the earl's family and their children did get to know each other in Siddermark along with Princess Alanah. I'm also willing to bet Hektor saved Hahlynd after the Battle of Shipworm Shoal when his ship was destroyed by HMS Zhneyfyr Ahrmahk. That makes Hektor a rescuer of not only his wife, the Prince of Corisande, the Thirsk family including Hahlynd's nephew but Hahlynd himself.

Besides getting a look at the latest and greatest from the ICN, Hahlynd wants to meet his friend and larger than life hero to both the ICN and RDN.

Thank you, RFC!

Oh well, if shortening the front is what the Germans crave,
Let's shorten it to very end - the length of Fuhrer's grave.

(Red Army lyrics from 1945)
