There is coming game with tall ships battles. It's called Naval Action and so far it looks promising:

You can see some of the gameplay on youtube.

I thought it might pique the interest for some of the people frequenting this forum. :)

I hate to tell you but there are numerous Age of Sail games out already. Not as finely detailed as yours but out there none the less

Board Game or Table top
Wooden Ship and Iron Men by Avalon Hill computer and board game. the game can also be played as a table top with miniatures (recommend GHQ)

Close Action series by Clash of Arms Games
Rebel Seas
Monsoon Seas

Computer Games

Age of Sail I
Age of Sail II
Age of Sail III Privateers Bounty

Computer adjudicated played with miniatures

Ship of the Line

I know there are a lot of other games out there focused on tall ships. This was just a blurb for a new game. :)

I know some people prefer the turn based variant (which encompasses both board games and computer ditto) and some people are more into the real time strategy variant, but this is the first multi player "first person" ship "simulator" that I know of.

Don't forget "Broadsides and Boarding Parties". Love that one. Big plastic model ships that come apart to represent damage ftw. :) And I do have all the Age of Sail games on CD-ROM. 8-)

Do not forget "Form line of battle" another Minature board game that is much better than "Woodships and Iron Men."

WS&IM was designed as a beginner level game, and with a few modifications easily adaptable to table top. It was onr of the very first war games I ever purchased. (I still own that original set.(1982))

Actually, there was one from 1967ish called Trafalgar, which was fairly detailed. I no longer have my copy - I sold it on ebay 15 years ago or so.

Wooden Ships & Iron Men is an adaptation of Juggernaut's miniatures game Ship of the Line which was designed by Craig S. Taylor back in the 1970s. If you go hunt up a copy of the original Juggernaut rules, you will find a list of contributors and play testers from an even earlier version of SotL, and on that list you will find a young whippersnapper by the name of David Weber.

I still have the scratch built balsa miniatures of the entire Spanish Navy (circa 1800), the entire US Navy (above schooners, and some of them) from 1812-14, five squadrons of the Royal British Navy, the entire Russian (Baltic) line of battle from 1805-1815, and five squadrons of the French Navy circa 1805.

Ah, the memories!
