Thanks everyone for this! My wife and I had been stumped by Nimue's new last name.

And for anyone who might not be up to speed on Merlin's last name, Athrawes is teacher in Welsh.

It is great to get these tidbits of info... I have some Welsh blood in my genes, but have never been able to properly investigate it!

Its a compound formed of two separate words when Nimue decided to turn them into a single surname. ;)


And here I thought it was mashing together David of "David and Goliath" fame with a shortening of Muad'Dib from Dune!
