Someone has been watching Robin Hood (Prince of Thieves)...

I preferred the Cary Elwes version

Speaking of weapons, who would win a match between Price Roger and his Voitan sword, and Honor Harrington wielding the Harrington Sword?

I'd say prince Roger as he has MUCH more experiance with his sword.

Honor is amazingly skilled with the sword in Dueling

Roger has several years practice in staying alive in battle

Balderdash! Harrington sells more books. She wins hands down. What writer kills off his highest selling heroine for an also ran? Besides RFC has to split the proceeds on Roger, another strike against The Prince.

I have no doubt Honor would win in hand-to-hand combat. She's got 40-odd years of experience at coup-de-vitesse, and Roger has only 2 years of truly solid training at all, and exceptionally little of it hand-to-hand.

Sword, however, I think you nailed it. Honor would win... but only because she's a more valuable intellectual property.

Harrington would start off the battle by pointing at him with her left hand...
3 seconds later, it'd all be over.

What? You think fighting fair is a good idea in a battle of life-and-death?

And no, Dogzard wouldn't make a difference. After all, Harrington has her own six-legged killing machine...

Dogzard is a dog analogue. We all know the RFC has a soft spot for cats. Nimitz would bounce around the poor dog-lizard and slice and dice. As a dog lover I find the idea distressing, but I calls 'em as I sees 'em.

As for shooting the poor kid, depends on the nature of the duel. If its a formal challange with swords, she would grab Rogers sword with left hand then hack at him with her right. Any damage to her prostetic can be repaired.

Anyway you look at it, Honor would feel sorry for killing the kid but she could indeed kill him if she had to.

I suspect unless some way of handicapping the fight to put them on equal physical footing existed, Roger wins going away, because his toot is a much more comprehensive cybernetic upgrade than Honor's eye and arm and his genetics have been tweaked considerably more than Honor's. There's no question Honor's far more skilled than Roger, but I don't think she can beat a Rogerverse assassin program.

Considering that said assassin program was A) designed for guns, not hand-to-hand, B) specifically stated as nothing more than a "shortcut for training", C) Honor has been training for more than twice as long as Roger has been alive... sorry, I don't buy this one.

If I took the discussion seriously, I would agree with you about Honor. The key for me is that she will know when Roger decides to strike. With that edge and massive experience, Roger is toast.
