Fans of Colin Maclntyre and the great starship Dahak should take a minute to stop in here for discussions about one of David's best-loved series.

What do you think the potential for a good couple of movies or maybe a serial if the right production company gets involved? I admit to being somewhat ignorant of all things anime (I just catch the shows on Saturday's Adult Swim and AniMonday), but I believe that it could look awesome. I'm picturing scenes with Emperor Colin standing on the platform in the Command Deck gesturing with one hand towards the enemy and shouting attack and then the scene speeds out to show the bronze globe with Dahak's triple headed dragon exploding with lasers as he pounds the enemy.

At one time ADV was creating an anime series out of the first book. They had a website with some character designs and other neat stuff. Unfortunately the project fell apart for some reason. I don't know if the rights have expired or still are in ADV's hands.

I would love to see this happen. In fact I would like to see almost any David's stories as anime.

Anime? i hate Anime - i would never want to see any of David's stuff ruined by Anime. 3d possibly - good 3d that is. Halo 3 version 3d would be good. Any other type of animation just would not be good enough for Davids works.

Paks, please tell me you haven't fallen into the "all anime is like Pokémon" trap. That is KIDS anime. More mature anime is usually loads better, a bit like comparing a Mr Man book to one of Weber's novels. (Mr Men fans, please hold your fire, this is merely an example.) Please, check out the Appleseed films (CGI/Anime) for an example of how it can be done and done well.

Strange fact :- The "Anime Eyes character design" actually originated in America. Believe it or not, Betty Boop inspired the "large eyes" way of drawing characters, so you across the pond, IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT (kidding).

Awaiting comments.

No - there has been good 3d anime - but - i would not class it as anime - and if you notice - i also specified all other types of animation also with the exception of a very specific type of 3d animation. I've watched (or tried at least) several different movies and series and just could not like them - they even have a couple channels dedicated to different anime.

I think this could work. But I'm thinking maybe more inline with Ghost In The Shell style. This goes really well with the part of implants for getting data and much more.
