I'm not sure either. I've set the threshold pretty high to filter out words in search, but it still seems to block weird things.

Hi kzt

I tried a search on my ASUS tablet (using Google as a search engine) and found no problems.

However, I don't know which search engine you used - - -

The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: beowulf.
You must specify at least one word to search for. Each word must consist of at least 4 characters and must not contain more than 15 characters excluding wildcards.

Greetings

I was looking through some of the ancient posts, when I saw an interesting topic (`What is your treecat name' approx.) from well before I joined. Is there any protocol on necro-ing posts that I should be aware of?

Thanks for your time.

If its more than a week or so old, best to start a new thread and link to the last page of the old thread in your post, but only really if its not a techy one that we argue over, like the ship class starting with f, twstmnbn, etc. if under a week, its not really necroing.

    Hi Duckk
is it appropriate to direct a new reader like Scuffles, who is having difficulties accessing hard copy to the Baen free library. This is where I got started on David Weber . Now my son and I both have The Harrington and Safehold Hard copies on our bookshelves.
Waiting to hear before I put anything on that thread.

If it's a legit source like Baen or Joe Buckley, I don't mind.

    Hello, Mr. Duckk:

I have been posting and replying and replying with quotes. But I haven't figured out how to only pick what part of a post that I want to quote. I'm sure that there must be instructions somewhere in the honorverse but that is a huge place. Can you help please?

When you select reply with quote you'll see a set of block quotes at the top and bottom.
The quote above, replacing the block quotes with curly brackets, looks like this:
    {quote="Reader Bob"} But I haven't figured out how to only pick what part of a post that I want to quote. {/quote}

You just trim out what is inside the block quotes to be what you are responding too. Then use the preview button to see if it looks right and fix it if it doesn't. It does drive people crazy if you accidentally attribute what someone says to someone else, so look out for that.

Because I read hard copy, I have been away for awhile. I forgot my sign-in and created a new one. It was interesting to see that there is more editor control now over the first post. Is that because of the incident where someone spammed all the threads with an incoherent ad for leather handbags?
PS. In reading old threads I found my old sing-in, so user "tlb4w" is redundant.
