Hahahahahahahaha...
Probably the WORST picture i´ve seen for the Honorverse. And while the kludge supposedly being Nimitz is by far the worst offense against good taste, the flaws doesn´t stop there. At first glance it might look fairly pretty, but stop and look at the details and think about it for a second. That handgun, and i shudder to call it HANDgun, is absurd, it´s worse than the original Sternsnacht from Battletech(and that was a freakin rifle cut down to be a showing off piece). The fingers on her left hand looks like something that might belong on a Xenomorph, not a human. AFAIK, Honor is totally NOT supposed to have a noticeably narrow waistline. That really doesn´t fit well together with her stated looks or genetics. And the woman on the picture looks more like a halfstarved model than a military girl used to do a LOT of working out. Especially with prolong effects. And someone said something about not too bad with the makeup? Really? You could possibly paint a small house with the amount of rouge in her face. And eyes should not have so much makeup around them that it looks like she just cried for half an hour. And why is she standing inside an oddly lit beehive? Space usually does not have huge hexagon mesh patterns in the background. And OMG poor Nimitz, this pic really makes him look like a detestable little monster robot rather than a cuddly oversized cat. |

Actually this i can understand 1st) this is a comic, stuff like this i can live with and given her heavy-g genome, thinking about that gun as not a pistol but maybe an equivalent of SMG would be plausible.
I would say a combination of hyper and a window thats not clear but 'hecagonal?' |

Honor is quite okay actually. But where's Nimitz and what's this crossover between the Silver Surfer and Cerberus doing on her shoulder? I don't know what it's supposed to be, but I'm pretty sure it's not canon... ^^
I'm kind of wondering what Evergreen's reaction on getting this cover was, though. Artist: "Oh, and by the way, here's the new cover." Evergreen: "Cool, thanks!" Artist: "I'm particularly proud of this Nimitz fellow you described to me as a 'living buzzsaw'. That made my imagination running! What do you think?" Evergreen: "... Seriously?" Artist: "Yeah, actually, I'm serious. Why? Not dreadful enough? How would you draw a 'living buzzsaw' instead?" Evergreen: *sighs* "Ohhh, we're going to get sooooo much crap for that..." |

I will tell you now. I will buy the first one, and I will read it in spite of these covers. If the art on the inside is the same as the art on the cover, I will not purchase the second. Furthermore, I will recommend to my friends that they not buy them. How many sales do you thing will happen with the hardcore fan base marketing against them?
If Nimitz looked like that, Benjamin's armsmen would have freaked out over letting him into that first dinner. ________________
