Noticed a fun little detail.

Make sure that you roll ship just before the enemy gets destroyed, then when the battle is over, watch the background of the ship-adjustment screen.

Yeah! The ship is rolling back to its proper orientation!
The roll has carried over from the battle!

Nice one, Evergreen!
It's the little things that really sell it.

Only thing you need is something showing which areas have upgrades running, love the game however
hammer them with bpl, then finish off with normal missles.
Only get to play for a bout 15 minutes a day so have tons of resources from resource generators.

Agree. Upgrades are tough to manage.
Once I got on top of the upgrades (most of the weapon levels online), a volley of BPLs wipes out most of their systems unless they roll. Follow up with a volley of NX2 nukes and they're toast. That's in Manassas. Hope formori has smarter opponents.
Oh, and resource generators are still paying out at huge rates.

nope. Not that I could tell. There's a couple of ships that recharge their roll ship very fast, but it just delays the inevitable.

Are they? They had been reloading every time you quit the game. (Well, and killed the process). I'm not seeing that behavior anymore.

I love the game but have a few questions.

1: When is this set in the storyline? The number of Frigates I'm running into suggests either before Honor's carer started or very early in it which would fit with the one ship class I have a confirmed service date on, the Havoc-class Destroyer, which entered service when Honor was about two years old but I could swear that I just ran into a character from the novels in the story.

2: Is the Neophyte class Frigate a model of ship first seen in the game? I know there were no Neophyte class Frigates mentioned before the game but there were the Neophyte class Light Cruisers which were upgraded and renamed Frigate class Light cruiser so I was wondering if I'm fighting the light cruisers or an all new ship.

Its sort-of a nearly-canon Honorverse with the game set around the events of the first book and slightly afterwards (at least the parts I've played so far), but it is a Variant Universe, so it's about... 80 to 90% canon (rough estimate).
As for the starships, the Sollies use ships over a century old, so a ship forty-odd years old is perfectly reasonable.

The Neophyte class is again sort-of canon. Two Haven-built frigates served in the GNS under the label of Neophyte-class, but whether they were called that in the Havenite Navy... the jury still seems out on that one.

As long as you don't try to over-analyse the game, it's good.
Hope this helps.

You run into lots of characters from the story. Admiral Tourville (who is doing something clearly not canon), Honor Harrington on her tour in Silesia (doing something clearly not canon), Andre Warnecke (who is doing something else clearly not canon)...

I find it a bit odd that they're not using Admiral Webster or Admiral White Haven for the admiral you talk to. That'd be a pretty easy tie in, but they throw in a new guy instead.

It's not a canon universe. The Peeps and Sollies are both rather more evil than they're ever presented as being in the books (the Peeps being in bed with Silesian pirates, which would give Caslet and Jourdain a fit no doubt), and the Sollies actually escorting Manpower around with battlecruisers (which would give Beowulf a fit and provoke a constitutional crisis in the League a few years early, no doubt).

But. I don't really have too many complaints.

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately I have a bad habit of over-analyzing things. I'll just scratch the Neophytes up as one of the changes since the novel Neophytes are a refit of Haven Frigate-class Light Cruisers used by Hrayson rather than being frigates.

Anyone else found themselves suddenly in trouble in mission 30 (final Sashcen mission)?
The enemy ship has a $%^*-load of missiles and launches huge salvoes for what it's meant to be.
I've already L10'd my officers and maxed my level boosters (type 3)... how can I get the advantage?

When I got stuck on a mission, I found the answer was always Mark 13 missiles.

Use a salvo or two to soak up defenses, then a salvo to take out sidewalls, then a salvo of Mark 13s to smash the ship's systems. (The missiles that cripple weapons should do the trick too). Then you should be able to finish the fight at your leisure.
