The GOP members of the Senate Judiciary committee just voted to give a lifetime appointment to the Federal Bench to a Trump judicial nominee who:

*Has only had a law degree for 3 years.
*Has NEVER actually tried a case.
*Was declared unqualified to be a judge by the Bar Association.


But he did have what the GOP apparently considers to be the only qualification that counts. He's Republican. That totally qualifies you to be a lifelong Federal Judge right?

Party over country, on display on a daily basis. They aren't even pretending to give a crap about anything but partisan politics anymore.

One MP is about to quit due to being a dual citizen be descent, and another is in trouble because she appears to be a dual citizen by marriage. (Italian law strikes again)

Must admit, watching the One Nation federal leader find out that their candidate in a state election co-owns an adult store during a live press conference was quite amusing.

This case is particularly puzzling to me. I mean, there should be plenty of experienced judges wanting an appointment to the Federal bench, and no doubt there are a number with sufficient conservative credentials - who him of all people?

More information. While owning an adult shop is unusual and would put some people off, the real issue was the shop's Facebook page that promoted rough sex up to and including domestic violence.

If he's involved in promoting DV, he shouldn't be allowed anywhere near power.

The UK is almost my second home, and I've been surprised by your media's obsession with US news to the exclusion of much else. As to the other way there is an obsession with the Windsor soap opera here.
