No doubt which is why Congress as a whole gets such a negative rating. While the individual people are doing a great job.

So we keep going around in circles and why I am such an advocate of limiting government to the lowest level possible.

Which the government shutdown might have the unintended(?) consequence.

Think about the that while reading the following BBC article:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-24507375

Why do we have a National Park Service? Note I am actually in favor of the NPS but it has become bloated.

Enjoy,

I'd disagree with that. Originally the tea party had widespread support from across the political spectrum. Large numbers of independents and moderate democrats were involved. The overriding issues were ANGER driven. There was anger towards the Republicans and the Democrats. Anger towards the politicians who made sweetheart deals with their wall street friends while ordinary middle class people were laid off, had their houses foreclosed on, etc. Anger toward politicians who drove (in part) the mortgage industry to collapse with unsustainable social policies and poor regulatory enforcement driving lending practices, leaving ordinary people to clean up their mess. Anger toward politicians making sweetheart deals with unions, while everyone else was paying the price.

Over time the tea party drifted toward a slice of the Republican electorate. Currently birthers do seem to be drifting toward the tea party, probably from lack of anywhere else to go. But they weren't originally part of the movement.

Note to outside the US. Birthers were an extremist fringe movement driven primarily by those annoying talk show hosts Daryl was complaining about. They believed that Obama was born in Kenya and thus was unable to be president. No amount of evidence would convince them otherwise. Unfortunately for those of us suffering from having to listen to them over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over, some in the Obama camp were encouraging them by delaying release of key documents etc., because Obama was getting a lot of milage out attempting to link mainstream Republican to them. Birthers were never taken seriously by the majority of the US but their annoyance factor was high.

even assuming you are correct in that assestment, you would have to agree the tea party is forever stained with that paint of the birther movement.

Just as progressives are stained by those Occupy Wall Street thugs, whiners and rapists? If one is so intellectually dishonest as to disregard an entire set of political beliefs based on sound logic and data just because some proponents are idiots, then neither side can defend their positions.

Stick to the facts and discuss those.

If he is inelligible then he won't become president. So what? If is elligible and the left make a big deal about it, the left is no better than their portrayal of Birthers.

That this circus topic dominates the anti-TEA Party position in a discussion of economic policy speaks poorly for those arguing against the TEA Party.

Any body out there got an extra $40,000.00 burning a hole in their pocket?

Yea, that surpasses what used to be the average net worth of Americans befor the implosion of the housing market caused the equity in their homes to evaporate.

What is really scary is the eagerness with which the Fed is pumping money into the stock market to keep it inflated. Since our banks chose to use the TARP money to invest in stocks rather than issue new mortgages, this helped the banks to repay TARP. It also benefits very much the very rich who have a much higher percentage of their wealth invested in stocks rather than homes or their own businesses.

I am astonished at how oblivious people are to the fact that the Obama economy and administration has so dramatically favored the very rich and big business over the middle class and small business. Just one industry fragment as an example is concrete pumping trucks. Prior to the mortgage collapse the dominant provider was Brundidge Bone but small, independent contractors had a majority of the market. When housing construction imploded, the concrete pumpers were in deep shit. The Feds allowed Brundidge Bone to defer payments to creditors indefinitely and continue to operate while forcing smaller concrete pumping companies that went into bankruptcy to liquidate. Given the high maintenance cost of a concrete pumping truck, this put the independents who had avoided bankruptcy at a severe disadvantage. They were still stuck with the $200 per hour maintenance cost on their pumps to remain in business while Brundidge Bone could use a truck until it broke, then park it and use another truck from it's huge fleet.

By the time housing really recovers rather than sputters, this one big company will have a near monopoly on the market.

How is that for screwing the little guy to benefit the rich?

By the time the Obama administration is over, the wisdom of the Natural Born Citizen qualification will be confirmed. The birthers will be vindicated because the real issue was never the exact moment and location that Obama popped out of his mother's vagina. There is reasonable suspicion that Obama's African "father" ease nothing more than a step father to who entered into a marriage of convenience with Stanley Ann Dunham after she got herself knocked up by Frank Marshall Davis while posing for porn photos for him. (she was rather spectacular). Although Obama's probable true paternity actually does qualify him as a natural born citizen, his experiences growing up in Indonesia as a native rather than expatriate American then journeying to Pakistan to study in a Madrasa at a time when it was illegal for US citizens to travel to that country makes his allegiance to the US very tenuous.

Even more serious is the absolute contempt for the Constitution that has been used to justify Obama's candidacy.

but his cultural experiences that

I was sticking to the facts but where is your justification to paint the OWS people as what you did? granted there was some whining in the group and justifiably so, but as for the thug and rapist part i never heard of one instance of that happening. I do remember seeing alot of footage of police brutality during that time period from beatings to unrequired dousing with pepper spray and unnecessary tazings. I am willing to consider you argument if you can provide documentation of a OWS person raping a wall street banker.

Here you go. They didn't even target their banker enemies but each other. So, yes there are thugs and rapists at those demonstrations.
