3% of Americans own 50% of the guns.
You read that wrong, - Half of all guns in America are not owned by the top 3%'ers.

Everybody seems to think they own everything, here's proof to the contrary.

Is it really?

There´s more civillian owned guns in USA than there are people.
About 25% of adults owns a gun at all.
The vast majority of gun owners have 1 or 2.

Ok, so oversimplified numbers for mathcheck:
320M people.
So around 260M adults?
112 guns per 100 ppl-> 358M guns.
260/4-> 65M gun owners.
>80% owns 1 or 2 guns. So 52M ppl owns less than 104M guns.
That leaves 13M ppl owning at minimum 254M guns, an average of around 19 guns per person.

Even if we just look at this basic quick test, we already have 20% of the ppl owning ~68% of the guns.

And the majority of those ppl with 1 or 2 guns actually owns just ONE.
Make it simple and say half/half, that adds another 26M guns to those 254, total of 280, which ups the ownership of those 20% to almost 80%.

And those are lowball figures.

And at the same time, we're well aware that there are a bundle of people who owns 100+ guns.
The 3%/50% statement may or may not be correct, but it´s perfectly plausible.
Even just based on basic wellknown facts and maths.

Not sure what's really up yet, but down here in Oz we seem to have had more shootings in the last week than the previous 9 or so.
Definately more fatals.

Heh, same down in Stockholm actually, although last two weeks there if i heard correctly.
And more in those two weeks(, FIVE!), than in the preceeding 40 or something.

Still, apparently in at least 4 cases it was criminals clashing internally, and nearly all suspects are already locked up for 4 of them.

Part of it, aparently, is using gun shot woulds to the arms or legs as a friendly reminder to repay debts. (Which is stupid in this country as it will garner police attention)

Um, the thing under my pillow isn't a gun. You may not want to know WHAT it is though. :?

I keep my old shipmate .45 somewhere else.

You don't have to worry about me though,

The question I have for you is, how did get past my wife without getting a 12ga hole blasted through your middle? Or get past my guard puddy tat without being cuddled to death? :P

Just remembered a weird TV interview from when Trump addressed the NRA. For Presidential security reasons guns were banned from the circus there. One middle aged male attendee was clearly distressed, as he'd had to walk nearly two blocks unarmed. "I've not felt so vulnerable in years" he said.
Weird attitude as a gun doesn't come with a force field, just as vulnerable to being shot with as without. Possibly more so if someone saw your gun and shot first just in case.
