The fact that a kid gunned down a bunch of people?

I mean, ok, but doesn't seem like a hard thing to get straight...

None of the American news outlets outside of gun blogs have noted that the firearm used was a pump action shotgun. Some are even blathering about "assault rifles."

So much for American police being outgunned.

The perpetrator fired 39 rounds.

The police fired 390 rounds!

How many of the bystanders who were shot were shot by the police?

How many police who were shot were shot by fellow police?

Perhaps this guy should be sentenced to community service as a police firearms instructor?

Twice here you have tried to make a point by linking to Townhall. To the rest of us Townhall is loony tunes central, so no real gain there.

Before denigrating SMR's sources Daryl, you might check it out even if you don't like the source he references. In this particular instance I have already heard this story through NPR, and I know it was carried by Fox and a few local stations in South Carolina.

Townhall is certainly a conservative site, and doesn't hesitate to list itself as such, nor do they do any first hand reporting. Most everything they carry is second hand word of mouth or reposts from other news sources. Townhall has a right wing bias through story selection and sensational wording of headlines. However, they do tend to source their news content well.

The first part of this paragraph is contradicted by the conclusion.

I have checked out Townhall a few times, and had a couple of problems. One was that it seemed to be full of wacky tin foil hat items that were just plain ludicrous, regardless of your political bias. The other was that my PC antivirus caught some malware from there, while my Android tablet did get infected and took some time to get clear.
