I believe I said; I relied on the police and (as stated) had my car missing, for a week right next door to the police station, a friends pickup stolen, found by me (not the police) but unable to shoot the thief since I called the non-present police - who did find it later (in a traffic stop) and then let him go, and had a gun waived in MY face with the police too busy writing traffic tickets to come do something about it!
Just a good thing there were no Comanche or Apache raids or I'd've been toast!

Almost only counts in Horseshoes and Nuclear Weapons. I almost got the Hand-Grenade out the window does not count.

I think i'm gonna be tracking down one the next time I find a beer bottle with cigarette butts stuffed in it on my patio table.

Are you sure that should be a capital offense? Maybe flogging would be more appropriate, at least the first time. If they don't learn from that…

First time was 3 years ago, just a few cigarette butts
Three weeks later patio of soap sude because some idiot tossed a bottle of Dawn in the fish pond and killed 8 koi.
Then there was the six pack in the pond I had to drain to get all the glass out.

Then the broken window in my truck when they tried to steal it last summer
Then the blood all over the patio (and the neighbor's car), when he tripped over the wood I pulled from the house and left planning to clean up in the morning.

Then I wake up to a beet bottle with 6 cigarette butts in it.

We're way beyond flogging.

Ah - your lucky, my dads pickup got stolen a few years back - and the drunken idiot rolled it over in a ditch - totaled.

Uh huh.... I was under the impression you were a gun owning US citizen. Was I wrong about that?

If not, it seems all those guns you think the country needs to have floating around everywhere to deter or deal with crime aren't working so hot are they?

Yes, about the first part, you are. I am a Texas, and a believer in the personal freedoms this State represents, freedoms that can not be protected by a power mad government run by greedy, lying, selfish, politicians who want nothing better than to declare themselves dictator-for-life. it doesn't mater what economic system you have, those anti-gun countries that haven't fallen to dictatorship only hold onto their tenuous freedom through political infighting between different politicians both wanting to be the one in-charge. Socialism is the worst, because it (out of design) concentrates ALL the power in a few greedy politicians who can then use that power to make the others 'disappear', but it is not impossible - or even unheard-of in free societies (such as the Weimar Republic).

As to me owning a gun, Just too poor - and too busy spending my money on sifi & game minis :) - hoping to get my BA soon and a decent paying job. Once I can afford my own house, I hope to be able to purchase the necessary tools to protect it properly.

Sure they are, most of those used in crimes are ILLEGAL guns, stolen, smuggled, S# filed off, a lot from Mexico.

Do you really think there is Any law, that ANYONE could make, that will somehow make an ILLEGAL weapon used for ILLEGAL activity somehow TOO illegal for criminals to use? Making guns illegal only prevents law abiding citizens from having them - NOT CRIMINALS - DUH :!: how hard of a concept is that to comprehend :?:

Like;
"Well Fred, I know we planned to rob the bank today but they made it against the law to have guns inside the bank so I guess we can't. oh well, guess we'll just have to go down to unemployment and apply for an actual job."

More Like;
"Hey Fred, they made it illegal to carry guns anywhere in the city! That means there won't be anybody else in the bank with a gun to try to stop us! GREAT LETS GO!!!shik-shik (cocking sound)"

Sheesh!
