Assuming that this can be proven eventually, the only reason i can think the United States government does not simply admit the existence of ET's is they fear how it will affect the american populace and the possible overt undue influence that religion has on american politics.
While this topic does not bother me in the least and indeed provokes my curiosity i do recognize that other may find it uncomfortable and be unable to handle it. Since this is pure speculation at this point since i have no actual proof of either instance. I do know for a fact that the pentagon has drawn up plans and has even conducted wargames in the event of a et attack and occupation but from what i understand from their press releases on the subject is they cover every possible threat, real or imagined. |
