Typo?

That would be about 50 million deaths. I would expect the lethality rate to be much higher in such a situation. Call it 100 million deaths, by November!

BTW, Trump didn't forbid folks outside of the CDC from developing their own tests.

The one almost everyone thinks of is the former "Page 3 Stunna", but The Sun is also Paper Non Grata in Liverpool due to a story they invented regarding the Hillsborough Disaster. Even now, you cannot give away copies of The Sun in Liverpool, as one comedian memorably proved.

For an outdated but still fairly accurate view, see this clip from Yes Minister.
Humorously, the PM at the time was Margaret Thatcher, who was a reported fan of the show (much to the horror of one of the writers)

Oh hey, looks like one of the primary sources for the "COVID escaped from a lab" story was ... a sloppily researched document written by some defense contractor.

But then, it's not like people like FLY here really care about such things, is it....

A change in subject... in a news clip today, Trump is portrayed as taking his own recommended cure for covid19, an antimalarial drug hydro...(if you really want this sucker properly spelled, look it up).

Presumably Trump doesn't have covid19, but thinks it could be preventative...

Goodness. I don't like Trump for reasons already elaborately gone over. But the FDA has already warned that it can have deadly effects, such as increasing the risk of fatal heart attacks... Like him or not, I really don't want the man hurting himself. And even worse, some of his more enthusiastic followers could start following his example.

Bad deal all the way around... only the latest clash between the anecdotal and the scientific....
