100.000 people dead, you complete nutcase.

A quarter of all people, worldwide, who are known to have died due to COVID have died in the US.

This is not the common cold. The 2018-19 influenza season killed "just" 35000 people in the US. A disease that is at least 3 times as deadly and much more infectious is no longer comparable to the common cold or even a regular influenza season (which, let's be clear, also happened this year!).

In conclusion: Imaginos, do us all a favour and learn how to read some goddamn numbers.

Addendum... that 35,000 is an extrapolated estimate of how many people influenza killed last year... arrived at by taking actual confirmed cases and multiplying it by a modifier that accounts for expected uncomfirmed/unreported cases.

Whereas the Covid numbers are confirmed cases *only*... in conditions where lack of testing and in some states deliberate manipulation of reported data is guaranteeing significant undercounting.

So the imbalance between Covid and the flu is far worse than those numbers suggest.

I do worry about those kids and an anticipated spike in infections... Listen to me...kids. They are not children. Sometimes from my perch It's hard to tell the difference.

As for population implosion, lots of countries are experiencing that. Both China and Japan are going through that. West Europe is going through it, I think... In fact the only way we avoid shrinking is immigration...

That bulge in the border between Iraq and Kuwait is often referred to as "Churchill's Burp.". Allegedly Churchill and other dignitaries were meeting after lunch to carve up what had been the Ottoman Empire. Churchill was drawing on a map when a Beef Wellington suddenly disagreed with him.

I recently watched Lawrence of Arabia from begging to end.
It is of course a Hollywood interpretation of history, but it certainly provides context. The Arabs were not stupid but they were technologically ignorant. A quick of history left some violent tribal sheiks in control of some of the most valuable real estate on the planet.

...It is British movie.

Actually, we are still learning about the Chinavirus. Sweden decided to aim for herd immunity. As of now less than ten percent of their population is infected and they have suffered a death rate ten times that of Norway.

The experience on the US aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt suggests that for normally healthy young people, Covidvirus has a lethality rate of about .1%. It's obviously far more lethal for the elderly. This explains why Italy got reamed while Germany got off easy.

Just FYI, the actual Coronavirus death rate in the USA is about average compared to Eurotrash countries.

There is an American parody of Lawrence of Arabia in which it is revealed that Lawrence actually enjoyed his treatment by the Turks so much that he arranged to get himself captured repeatedly.

Which means it has a bias. But That's ok unless you think the Brits should stop making movies... After all, we all have our biases :D

...Which means it is not Hollywood movie, hardly more.

While real Thomas Lawrence was apparently homosexual and quite probably masochist, he most definitely did NOT like the idea of being Ottoman prisoner.
