It's even worse than that. He is going down to those southern states with his dammed rallies, crowding people in shoulder to shoulder, no masks and holding them where they have the worst spikes.

I wonder if he could be brought up on charges of manslaughter come January...

Is Trump trying to get to the point where he can announce a state of emergency and cancel the elections?

Seems to me he's thinking that's the only way he could still be POTUS in January.

But then again what do I know about the procedures that may be involved.

I don't think there are provisions in the Constitution to cancel the election. I'm not sure how that would shake out aside from badly. I'm more sure that Trump's term ends in January and he needs to be re-elected to stay in power after that.

I believe that the election goes forward on the first Tuesday in Novemmber. That is constitutionally mandated. Nothing anybody can do about that.

The real poser is that if Trump loses if he will claim a rigged election and try to stop a peaceful transfer to the next administration.

As predicted: two weeks after riots started, the number of infected shot up. Such... curious example of self-destructive behavior of undeucated peoples...

That's what happens when you turn "wearing masks" into a political shibboleth.
And what happens when you completely fuck up the handling of a pandemic.

(And also what happens when you ignore people for long enough that they no longer believe that non-violence serves them)

Organ transplants are also 'elective' procedures. If you wait until they’re not elective, IT’S TOO FUCKING LATE!!!

Dilandu wrote:As predicted: two weeks after riots started, the number of infected shot up.

Well, duh. When the riots started there were about 370,000 virus tests per day. Now they’re doing more than 530,000 tests per day, and the tests have been improved. When better tests are performed on 43% more people, any reasonably intelligent person would expect at least 40% more confirmed cases. Why are you so surprised?

While the number of reported cases continues to increase as more are tested, the number of reported deaths per day continues to decrease. That trend did not change before, during, or after the riots, according to data from CDC.

What are the facts?

Yes — COVID19 is a corona virus, one of the two types of cold virus. It is a new variant of the common cold.

No — it is not Resident Evil, or The Omega Man, or The Last Centurion. It is not a re-run of the 1918 Spanish Flu.

Yes — people die, mostly of secondary causes, primarily pneumonia. Just like with every other cold and flu virus. Most of them were already dying of something else. Those at risk should be isolated from all viruses, all the time, not just one when it’s the subject of a panic. Crashing the economy by locking up the people not at risk does not serve any medical purpose.

Joe Biden, the Democrat candidate for President, announced that there have been 120 million deaths from COVID19 in the U.S. That would be The Last Centurion. A PR flack hastily corrected the number to 120,000. Maybe Slow Joe will remember that for a few hours. Maybe not.

Numerous jurisdictions have been caught inflating their ‘coronavirus’ numbers with unrelated deaths, some as blatant as Washington State’s “Ignore the stabs and bullet holes, they all died of COVID19!” New York City is reporting ALL in-home deaths as ‘COVID19’ without ANY testing — one reason New York, with 6% of the population, has 20% of all reported deaths. Have they forgotten about drug overdoses?

Over the last 4 years, an average of almost 1.5 million people have died from all causes between January and June.

IF the officially reported number of 120,000 deaths in 6 months ‘from the pandemic’ were accurate — it isn’t — and IF the number of deaths from all other causes remained the same — it didn’t — that would be an increase of about 8%. The math is simple. Why can’t you get the correct answer?

In six months about 25 million people have been tested, and 2.4 million were ‘confirmed’ to have COVID19 on the day they were tested. Early tests were so inaccurate they were actually worse than random guessing, and up until May only the sickest 2% to 3% could GET tested at all. Do you pretend that didn’t skew the numbers?

Given the reported numbers, anyone capable of making logical deductions, and doing some simple math, would conclude that there are an additional 20 to 30 million current cases among the 302 million people who have not been tested, and another 50 to 60 million who had it and recovered without ever getting officially counted.

That would make the overall fatality rate about 0.15% out of 80 million cases, which is typical for colds and flus.

Two things.

That number? Not random. It is taken from the Financial Time's COVID tracking page; their sourcing is pretty good.

Secondly, it means something very simple: That in the months under observation, the total number of deaths was 25% higher than the statistical norm, based on previous year's averages. Anomalies like that, in that magnitude, don't just happen; they are in fact incredibly rare, and show that the whole COVID-situation was and is very dangerous and certainly not, as you continue to claim, "just the flu".

If your next trick is to make yourself disappear without a trace, then I will be impressed.

You first, sunshine.

No, it's arguably worse than the spanish flu, at least in absolute terms. It is more contagious and deadlier; only the fact that our medical systems have gotten much better keeps it from being worse in relative terms (it already is, compared to the spanish flu's first wave, worse on an absolute basis).

Yes — people die, mostly of secondary causes, primarily pneumonia. Just like with every other cold and flu virus. Most of them were already dying of something else. I'm sorry, did you just try to claim that taking measures to reduce the number of people that get infected with a pretty deadly disease does not serve any medical purpose?

Do you know what words mean, Imaginos?

Hmmm

Do you really want to go down that route? Where we list statements made by Trump that were completely wrong about COVID?

Let's just say that, no matter what momentary gaffe Biden made, nothing he did can compare to Trump's misstatements on the matter.

You seem to have forgotten how to distinguish facts from bullshit again.

Because I know how excess mortality statistics work and you don't?

In six months about 25 million people have been tested, and 2.4 million were ‘confirmed’ to have COVID19 on the day they were tested. Early tests were so inaccurate they were actually worse than random guessing, and up until May only the sickest 2% to 3% could GET tested at all. Do you pretend that didn’t skew the numbers?

I pretend nothing. The raw numbers paint a pretty bleak picture on their own; taking into account the inherent inaccuracies in how they're gathered in the US doesn't make things better, quite the opposite.

Given the reported numbers, anyone capable of making logical deductions, and doing some simple math, would conclude that there are an additional 20 to 30 million current cases among the 302 million people who have not been tested, and another 50 to 60 million who had it and recovered without ever getting officially counted.

Which I am sure is a great comfort to the people who lost somebody to this disease; I'm sure they'll completely understand that there was nothing anyone could have done....

.... except of course there was, you little gobshite, as can be seen by comparing and contrasting the situation in the US with the situation in almost every western country that actually took this situation seriously.

It's not a cold virus. The cold virus virus is a different beast.
Nor is it technically influenza. Again, different virus family.
Covid is worse illness, caused by a third virus.
Colds and Flu's typically don't cause permanent damage. Covid can.

Now, casually speaking, they various illness get confused for each other. But if you want to speak facts, ...

The jump is NOT a result of increased testing. If all that was happening was that they were running more tests the positivity rate would be stable or downtrending. Instead it is spiking, indicating the virus is spreading in the population.

Stop trying to get your understanding of how this all works from Trump and Pence.

While the number of reported cases continues to increase as more are tested, the number of reported deaths per day continues to decrease.

Deaths. Lag. Cases.

There was nothing random about that number and your demonstrated total ignorance of what it means here is, well, not surprising considering everything else you're spouting.

Yes — COVID19 is a corona virus, one of the two types of cold virus. It is a new variant of the common cold.

No. no. NO.

"Coronavirus" is an entire family of viruses of which the cold virus is a member.

Also Coronaviruses? SARS and MERS. SARS had about a 10% case fatality rate. MERS was over 30%. Saying it's a coronavirus and thus "a new variant of the common cold" is pure idiocy.

Yes — people die, mostly of secondary causes, primarily pneumonia. Just like with every other cold and flu virus.

No, really not.

https://www.statnews.com/2020/06/26/fro ... infection/

Most of them were already dying of something else.

No they weren't. Having a co-morbidity does not mean "already dying from something else".

Joe Biden, the Democrat candidate for President, announced that there have been 120 million deaths from COVID19 in the U.S. That would be The Last Centurion. A PR flack hastily corrected the number to 120,000.

No.

https://nypost.com/2020/06/26/joe-biden ... rom-covid/

“Now we have over 120 million dead from COVID, I mean, 120,000 dead from COVID. "

He corrected himself. In the SAME SENTENCE you doofus. It was just a slip of the tongue. And then conservative propaganda land cut the last half of the sentence off to pretend like Biden actually thought it was 120 million.

Numerous jurisdictions have been caught inflating their ‘coronavirus’ numbers with unrelated deaths, some as blatant as Washington State’s “Ignore the stabs and bullet holes, they all died of COVID19!”

Never happened.

New York City is reporting ALL in-home deaths as ‘COVID19’ without ANY testing

Also never happened.

Of course it skewed them genius. There is a large undercount. CDC official estimates are the real number of onfections in the US are ~10x what the official tested count is.

There is also a large undercount of deaths. Also due to lack of testing, and as clearly evidenced in the excess mortality numbers.
