It is a significant statistic here, that in times of severe drought the incidence of adult male single vehicle accidents spikes up. Well insured farm owners, who have high speed collisions on country roads with large trees. Desperate men doing their final act to provide for their families.
The other one is attention seeking teenage girls who ingest very large amounts of paracetamol, and are found tragically sprawled across their beds. As planned, get found and have their stomachs pumped out. However as not planned, if not found soon enough are then told that they have ruined their liver, and unless a suitable donor is found will die anyway in about two months.
Of course the most common method of known suicides is hanging.

You make a very valid point about the teenaged girls using poisening. Just like wrist cutting, it is an attempt to express their angst rather than to end their lives.
