My dad was a fighter pilot in WW2, but in the Pacific theatre, flying P40s and Spitfires.
He told me a similar tale 50 years ago.
When the Australians fire, the Japanese duck. When the Japanese fire, the Australians duck. When the Americans fire, everyone ducks. However he was serious about it, as pray and spray seemed to be their preferred method.

For reference, here is a clip exemplifying American Gun Culture and tactical skills.

A more appropriate reference may be the 1997 North Hollywood Shootout where it took about 2,000 rounds of ammo to kill two bank robbers and cause 20 injuries among the law-abiding portion of the battle.
Another case is the SLA Shootout in LA where the terrorists fired an estimated 4,000 rounds, causing zero injuries (which was quite impressive given the building that they were in was surrounded by 400+ police). In return, the 5,000 rounds expended on their (un)safehouse directly caused the deaths of two (confirmed gunshot injuries) and indirectly killed four more (gunshot injuries/smoke inhalation).
9,000 rounds fired for six fatalities.

There is a reason that the joke "for Americans, Accuracy is something that happens to other people" exists.

It is perpetually amusing to me that, in his quest to prove that strict regulations over firearm ownership does not work, TFLY exclusively finds incidents that, had they involved firearms, would have been much worse.

Looking forwards to your next non-sequitur-pretending-to-be-a-response.
But please try to explain why you linked it next time...

Proving the point that, had that attack happened in a country with more permissive gun laws, the firefight that ensued after the crash could have been much worse.

... and this is my other source of perpetual amusement here: Your insistence that people killing people without using guns means gun control is a folly.

And both examples pale in comparison to the Las Vegas Shooting ...

Which also is a way of saying that the way we handle our gun situation here is stark raving mad.
