David Weber did indeed write a wonderful story. He took Aeschylus' Oresteia and made it resonate with modern readers as the original resonated so powerfully with ancient and to a lesser extent modern Greeks. I especially like the maturation of the Erinyes or the Furies described In Fury Born/Path of the Fury. David humanized them in a way that wouldn't have worked in Aeschylus' time. By changing the POV of the story from the object being chased by the Furies to the Furies themselves chasing that object, David highlighted the cost of taking vengence. This is contrasted by Justice or the removal of personal motive in administering punishement in response to someone causing harm to others.

Yes, I agree. The story was wonderfully told and adapted beautifully to a modern POV.

Its one of the last of his books i've read and which i enjoyed the most. I think thats because its high paced and the plot itself is quiet original.
Yes i haven'd read that much sci-fi and it could be that there are other authors who have done a similar storyline/theme better but i don't know them. Come to think about it i would like to know authors who write this kind of storyline - and are good at it....

Definitely one of the best SF-novels I have ever read.
And with more then 50 years of reading SF I’ve read a few!
But please David, no sequel it's a great stand alone novel, and I think even you would be hard pressed to surpass it.
Besides the slave drivers standing behind you, representing among others Safehold and Honerverse, would probably use their sjamboks to disuade you.

I share this sentiment; in fact, I liked the original "Path of the Fury" (second half of "In Fury Born") more than I like the full book... Please don't increase my regret!

It's kind of a shame that there's no way that the Honorverse and
that of Alicia DeVries can interact -- can you imagine the following:

The first face-to-telempathic face meeting between a bonded treecat and
Tisiphone?

Mesa's best genetically-enhanced assassins finding out the hard way
that there's someone who's even more of a hard-core killer than they
are?

And last but not least,

The five Mandarins and the SLN's upper brass suffering from a sudden
bout of Loose Sphincter Syndrome upon the discovery of a ship that's
even scarier than anything the Manties or their allies have?

I don't know about the rest of you out there, but I think that'd make
for some interesting reading.

Who says they can’t!
With Science Fiction anything is possible, as long as there is a plausible explanation.
Take Heinlein’s Number of the Beast, where travel to anywhere ever written about is possible. Gave a weird tale with stopovers To Barsoom and Oz among many others.

It would be possible for them to interact but there would have to be some hijinks involved such as alternate timelines, parallel universes, timetravel, etc. to make it believable.

Dear RFC:

The meeting between the Honorverse and the Furyverse as described above might be another occasion for you to imitate Heinlein.

Yes this would be a wonderful story. Something we can only dream of right know and hope for the future. When MWW is not to busy with all of his wonderful universes.

Any ship from Alicia's Universe down to the weakest destroyer is more powerful than any ship in honor's verse because they use a portable black hole as shield and drive and that can wipe out the missiles of even pod launches as it is or even ships of Honor's verse. Their missiles are the same. It is a much different technology and universe and shouldn't mesh though I do admit a meeting between Honor and Alicia would be incredible.

Two strong females with psychic type abilities, ability to be relentless and both knowing the price of honor and what it means to be broken to the core.
