Mr. Weber,

I just recieved my copy of House of Steel. I must admit I skipped right to the colored plates in the Honorverse section right away. I have to say Wow! It was awesome. But I was a little bummed that there were no Warrant or Chief Warrant Officer insignia shown. I'm a 26 year US Navy CWO4 so the warrants in your stories are always close to my heart. I was wondering if the Honorverse warrant insignia were officially fleshed out yet? If they are I'd love to see them in print one day. If not I'd love to submit my humble design. :D

Not David, but I was involved with the Companion, so I can answer the question. Sadly, we didn't do color plates for warrant officers. We had a pretty strict limit for color pages, so it was one of the things we had to leave off.

I can understand limited space. Maybe I'll get to see them in a future book. We Warrants are very patient. Tell David thanks for letting us all share the awesome stories in his head and as an IWO I always want more EW.

DW (and Linda Evans) also used Warrant Officers in
the Multiverse. An Arcanan Air Force Squire is a
Warrant-Officer (or equivalent) who pilots a
Transport Dragon.
I do not know if any Sharonans use that rank, or not.
The PAAF has an "Under-Captain" who might or might not
be a WO. He is a Specialist, not a Line Officer.
I discuss him in Multiverse Forum,
in thread "Officers Only."

Hello, Edward Fox,

Welcome to the forums. :) Perhaps they can work a pix of CWO Sir Horace Harkness in uniform onto a future cover, along with the required HH of course. Consulting on something or other, perhaps. But with the Chief just happening to show his full uniform. :)

Past MoH recipients often attend the awarding of the Medal to new receipients. Perhaps Sir Horace could be in the background of HH or some other character receiving the PMV. :D

That would work also. Whatever will get them to put him on a cover, in his lovely uniform. :)
