How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord,
Is laid for your faith in His excellent Word!
What more can He say than to you He hath said,
You, who unto Jesus for refuge have fled?

In every condition, in sickness, in health;
In poverty’s vale, or abounding in wealth;
At home and abroad, on the land, on the sea,
As thy days may demand, shall thy strength ever be.

Fear not, I am with thee, O be not dismayed,
For I am thy God and will still give thee aid;
I’ll strengthen and help thee, and cause thee to stand
Upheld by My righteous, omnipotent hand.

When through the deep waters I call thee to go,
The rivers of woe shall not thee overflow;
For I will be with thee, thy troubles to bless,
And sanctify to thee thy deepest distress.

When through fiery trials thy pathways shall lie,
My grace, all sufficient, shall be thy supply;
The flame shall not hurt thee; I only design
Thy dross to consume, and thy gold to refine.

Even down to old age all My people shall prove
My sovereign, eternal, unchangeable love;
And when hoary hairs shall their temples adorn,
Like lambs they shall still in My bosom be borne.

The soul that on Jesus has leaned for repose,
I will not, I will not desert to its foes;
That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake,
I’ll never, no never, no never forsake.

Words: From A Selection of Hymns from the Best Authors, by John Rippon, 1787; attributed variously to John Keene, Kirkham, and John Keith.

"Mid Trials And Tribulation" is the proposed title for book #6.

I was speculating about the NEXT book.

Possible Future Book Titles
With those whose rest is won (Final book)
On the Land and the Sea
Led through the deathly waters (Armageddon Reef?)
Rivers of Woe
The meek and lowly (Shall inherit Terra?)
On high may dwell (Back to space)
Past the border mountains (Capture Zion!)
Against both foe or traitor
Yet saints their watch are keeping (What's under the Temple?)
At home and abroad
Thy deepest distress
Through the deep waters
Through fiery trials (Pick your war)

Of course RFC may just pick another hymn for books 7+ so all our speculation becomes worthless.

Fun Titles We'll Never See!
The great Church victorious
The Church shall never perish!

I'm curious whether "Off Armaggedon Reef's" working title was "Led through the deathly waters," but it was changed because it wasn't considered "Fantasy/Science Fictiony" enough. Once "Off Armaggedon Reef" hooked us on the series, RFC was free to use phrases from hymns as titles, which may have been his original intention.

I can actually see the fight against the G4 ending with the book titled The Great Church Victorious.

Which Church, eh?

Unless he uses Namelessfly's suggestion.

"At Home With a Broad"

(No I don't know if this would make any sense, I gave up reading the books a few chapters in. My mind spent too much time translating names and I couldn't pay attention to the story.)

I had a similar problem with the first novel, until I decided to ignore trying to translate and just read the book. It was a little strange at first, but worked out just fine, and didn't inhibit my enjoyment of the story at all.
Trust me, the effort to work past the odd language is well worth it!

Hi Thirdbase

Sorry you could not get by the admittedly weird spelling in the Safehold series.

I've found acceptance of the spelling a hurdle well worth handling.

Personally, I'm finding the story very interesting.
